bama players getting twice what LSU players get is bull shite. we need to get our accountants busy and prove our guys need it too. the ncaa allowing this is a travesty. in fact LSU is near the bottom of the SEC in what we pay.

The fact it is not equal is the flaw in the system. All it takes is creative number crunching and you can be the top money giving.

You would have to go through the school as that cost of attendance affects the other students of the university. Good luck with that. The stipends need to be capped and the same for everyone but yet again, good luck with that.

Granddad is correct and it currently up to the schools to set the stipends for their current players based on the cost of living. I believe there is an in state and out of state stipend. Clearly the cost of living is not substantially higher in Baton Rouge than in Tuscaloosa. However you couldn't tell by looking at the stipends they are allowed to pay and it is not just Bama.

TV money needs to be used to give each student of an SEC school an equal stipend .
The rich are going to get richer unless it is changed.

I admit I don't know the formula that is used but it can't be cost of living. Starkville and Tuscaloosa are lower cost of living areas than baton rouge. the intent, if I remember correctly, was to cover college expenses that were not covered by a full scholarship. if that were true, and I damn sure am not saying it was, then these numbers are saying that it cost a full scholarship player more to attend Alabama than LSU so they make up the difference. I call bull shite on that. somehow bama is padding their numbers; maybe it's the cost of transportation.
I would think a student on a full ride got everything but spending money paid for. tuition, room and board, books and fees. what the frick else is there?
