Is Tuscaloosa that much better than BR?
They are beating us and winning "lots" of titles until LSU starts beating them on the field again, as much as I hate saying this, expect more of the same!!!

you live out of state
Get out, traitor
despite graduating from The Pineville High School and at the time being the Mayor of Indian Hills, technically I was always considered a Tennessee resident because of my father being in the Air Force. Out of state tuition was waved, but I had to get a lot of paperwork completed every single semester.
so by me choosing to go to LSU, i guess i was a dirty traitor like Moses and Allen.
not one person has ever thanked me for turning my back on Tennessee.

What I'd like to know is what in hell are you doing on an LSU message board? Does Syracuse suck that much that you have to spend time on a board of a team that actually has a chance to make some noise and has actually won championships in the modern era? That's the REAL question...where do idiots like YOU come from, trolling another teams' message boards instead of sticking to your own?

Reasons players should go to LSU, and La. players should NOT go to Bama:
1) There is no place on earth like TIGER STADIUM. It is electrifying. It is like the Roman Coliseum. It is historic. To play in that stadium on a saturday night, there is nothing like that experience. Every football player should want to come to LSU just to play in Tiger Stadium.
2) With the mystique of TS no kid in La. can even consider playing at another school. It is in your blood. The only reason to play at another school is if LSU has no football program. When kids in other states learn about LSU they would want to play here too.
3) You will get a great degree from LSU. If you work hard on the field you will have a chance to make it in the NFL. The new coaching staff will prepare you to WIN! and win the NC.
4) LSU has made enough changes to beat Bama and compete for the NC. Score was tied 0-0 after 3 Qs. Weakness was offense. LSU just hired a great OC. Weakness will become a strength.
5) Be on the LSU team that turned the table and started beating Bama. Why join Bama and be on the Bama team that started losing to LSU? Bama did NOT win the NC this year.
6) When LSU is in your blood you just cannot go play football for Bama. You understand that is being a traitor. Americans did not join Germany during WWII just because it looked like they would win the war. You stay home and fight for your country. A TRUE Tiger fan would never play for Bama. They would stay home and fight for their Tigers.
7) Out of State players would want to join LSU for the reasons above. The mystique of Tiger Stadium. The challenge to be a part of the team that lead to the downfall of Bama. You want recruits that want that challenge. LSU has 2 of the best coordinators in college football. Coach Eaux!

It's real simple. You can stay home, play for LSU and have a nice career winning 8-10 games a year and go to a mid-tier bowl every year. You will not have a chance to play for a championship of any kind. You will get to the NFL if you're good enough and you will be on TV a lot. For most Louisiana guys right now, that's enough.
Or, you can go a few hours away, still be close to home and be guaranteed that if you stay 3-4 years, you will play for multiple SEC titles and at least one national championship. There is a great chance your face will be splashed all over magazine covers and your life story might be told leading up to a title game. If you're a QB or running back, a Heisman is very possible. I mean, I get it. I hate Bama but I can see why a kid would want those things and it just so happens the only school in the nation which guarantees all of it is close to Louisiana and actively pushes for Louisiana players. LSU just doesn't offer any of that right now. Until that changes, this will keep on happening more and more.

Bama knows how to recruit Louisiana athletes

Problem is most kids that LSU recruits from la that waver or flip flop are black.
Most kids that grow up loving and adoring LSU and the mistique of tiger stadium are white.
I say that assuming the fact that showing up on game days with your folks from the time you are 5 until high school actually means something and has that effect.
There isn't a whole lot of black families tailgating at LSU.
Anyway, point is I just don't think the mystique of playing at LSU is as important for black la kids as it is for white la kids.
The high school football coaches of Lousiana are the key here.
They are the ones that have the biggest influence.
Just my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head!
The best advice I can give everyone on recruiting is to never, EVER, buy into the hype. 90% of la kids are very fickle and their loyalties lie with whoever can provide the prettiest girls, most money, and the smoothest line of bs at any particular time. If you think most of these kids are doing it for the love of the institution, you are fooling yourself.
So... follow recruiting. It's fun. But, anytime you think we've hit a jackpot remember it's fools gold and will probably be taken right back before it said and done. Like this kid who committed for 2018 from lab. Everyone was booming for him. Shoot, this guy ain't locked in! He'll probably decommit and go to bama like his other lab brethren. I ain't fooled.
So, don't get overly invested and don't look at crystal balls and potential booms. Those are marketing ploys. Those recruiting guys don't have any more of a clue than you or I do. (Actually, probably less of a clue because they're being led around by the nose by a 16, 17, 18 year old kid who thinks it's fun to screw with people cuz it gets them more attention.
