How bad is the state of LSU basketball when an article about the son of one of the greatest players (who has a statue), never mentions LSU once?

Things will be different by 2018 for LSU bball, I'm just afraid our dumbass AD will have let it slip too far in the shitter to bounce back by then.
Shaq has done and continues to do a lot for this university, but would you let your son come to a place where the coach can't develop players and has no control over his program? I'm afraid that them keeping JJ one more year is essentially going to set LSU bball back another 10 years. JJ sold his soul for Simmons and it completely backfired because he doesn't have the balls to stand up to his players.
There's a reason Kentucky can make it work under Calipari, it's about respect. And if you don't demand it in today's basketball world, you won't be given it and it showed this past season.

Shaq's son is going to want to play for a blue blood team or stay on the west coast. Even if we made a run this year with Simmons I don't think we have a chance with his son.

LSU is not serious about Basketball. It hasn't been in years. JJ was the easy hire. There was no real consideration for anyone else. It was railroaded in. Yes JJ played here and coached here previously but he had no real skins on the wall. In virtually every game we play and against every coach we face, we start the game in whole without even considering the comparison in the player talent on the bench.

We've got a better shot at much higher rated kids than Shareef O'Neal. He's a big man trying to play the wing. I'd much rather have Silvio De Sousa, Simi Shittu, or Emmitt Williams. All 5 stars, all are high on LSU.
Think Im going to get another basketball recruiting thread going.

I don't thinking he ever wanted to play at the school where his dad has a statue outside. Would you?

It isn't about JJ. Kid wants to make his own mark. I don't blame him. And Shaq wants to keep it "Love Shaq University" not"Love Shareef University."
