The name of the game with these coaching hires definitely seems to be "recruiting"

LSU getting Baker and Davis so far, and Raymond rumored...

Aranda and House were not big time recruiters from what I know. So they went with not only a good DC with LA ties, but one that RECRUITS well.

Then they go and get Bo Davis for DL (the position that is among the most lacking talent wise), and they must be paying him a fortune. He's a very good DL coach, but he also RECRUITS.

If the Raymond rumors are true, say what you will about him as a coach, and I will leave that up for debate, but he has recruited some high end talent.

All 3 with LA ties.

Its an interesting "adjustment" if you really look at it.

Huge talent issue on defense compared to offense. I think they thought they’d be able to draw kids easier but the offensive staff started to run laps on the defense after 2 cycles. This had to happen.

Very excited to see what this group does next recruiting cycle on top of the offensive players we already have committed.

I think they reel in a couple of 5 stars on D and then this is considered the rock solid #1 class in the nation

The problem with defense has been a lack of talent AND bad coaching/schemes

At least let's fix the talent issue with these hires and if they turn out to be good coaches then we are golden.

I’m sure the happiest staffer after these hires is Frank Wilson. I’m sure he was tired of doing his offensive recruiting plus all the defensive recruiting he’s had to do over the past month or so.

BK is blending approaches. He kinda messed up early with Polian and some others. Now he's been here a min, he's getting the whole Louisianimal thing.

They can all coach tho.

I think he thought LA would recruit itself, and with NIL & such it isn’t quite as easy as it once was.

Just about every move made since his first hires have shifted back to locking down the state & region.
