LSU lost some serious talent on the O-line the last two years for various reasons. Even with those players available I don't know if they could have been enough against a Bama front 7 like we saw last night. I've noticed Ed has been going for more athletic type tackles and I think that's a good thing.
Who are we looking at right now on the Oline for this year and next?

In this class?
OG, Kardell Thomas is the most well known. He's just a massive, mashing OG that will do well at LSU. He has done to DTs in HS what Q did to Brumfield last night.
OT, Ray Parker is athletic enough to play TE. I think the best OTs are former TEs. Andrew Whitworth is a good example of this that every LSU fan should be familiar with. He is not going to be ready to start immediately.
OT, Anthony Bradford physically looks more like a OG. I'm not sure that he's much of a pass blocker, so he'll either play RT or the interior I bet. He looks like a pretty good run blocker.
OT, Thomas Perry is going to need some work before he sees playing time. He seems top be one of those guys that's going to hang around for 4 years and play the last season, maybe two.
OC, Charles Turner is on the light side, but smart as a whip and just as athletic. He needs to work on his body and is a few years away from contributing.
Last class the pickings were slim by the time that Orgeron got the job. They grabbed two JUCO guys, one of which has done a very good job (Damien Lewis) and one of which has disappointed (Badara Traore). Traore is obviously getting his first taste of big boy football and it shows. Athletically he's pretty gifted, but he still needs some work on his strength and he needs to play more. Better players were recruited, but already committed by the time O was running things. Obviously they're not going to bail on programs to which they're already committed for a chance to gamble on a job at LSU in that situation.
OT, Cameron Wire is a very athletic OT that is working on gaining weight and adding strength. He has a great frame and foot quickness. He's still learning is a probably a year or two away from contributing.
OC, Cole Smith is another athletic big guy who is adding weight and strength. He looks very good technique-wise, but is sitting behind Cushenberry who is the team's best O-Lineman this season. I think he's going to be very good by the time it's his turn to start.

Great response! I agree though. Even if we get the players the team needs NOW, kids out of high school rarely are ready for the big boy football of the SEC. Recruiting DL away from Bama(Amite)will help things too

Go re-watch the game and look at Alabamas Oline and then look at ours. We have some big guys, but theirs are massive and looks they like a NFL line

Partially to do that they are four and five star freak athletes. Then they have their S&C program. Add some artificial help (you know what I mean) and there you go.
