My buddy got to shoot the shite with Les. Said "he's cool as hell". Thinks we have really made a good sell to Zo. UGA does have the distance advantage, but maybe tonight, Les wins the parents. I would shove KeKe's accolades down their throats. If Les is into scrapbooking, I'd have 5x7 glossies of every D player Les & Chief have put in the league. HB's Heisman trip and Reid's pro bowl selection as a rook. Maybe even eat some of the Carter's lawn.

other teams can sell the same thing we do. There are quite a few prominent programs in reasonable driving distance that are on TV every week. shite there are 2 other bcs champions in our division. No other teams can claim 3 championship teams in their division let a lone conference. Some kids would go to LSU no matter what, I get that. But 5* players aren't lined up outside of the athletic building begging for scholarships. The coaches have to go out and get them.
The whole LSU recruits itself is another myth perpetuated by miles haters that say he's an average recruiter. Funny we weren't saying this before 2005. Yet in 2005 saban had a total of 8 commits before he bolted. We finished with 15. LSU sure did recruit itself there. No, Les came in and saved that class by signing RP.

Your analogy makes absolutely no sense. That would be a decent analogy if you were talking about the ULL defense trying to recruit itself, only it would be an ugly girl, possibly an ugly boy.
The LSU defense would be more like a really hot and famous girl walking around in skimpy clothing, I think she would get everyone's attention.

I think its fair to say 'come play defense at LSU' gets you in the door with elite defense recruits all over....but it takes more than that to close the deal.

Off topic, but I wonder if we ever give these recruits something similar to the hype videos that come out before the games. They're not as good as they were a couple years ago, but at least as a fan you can't help but get excited watching those. I can see our coaches giving these guys a DVD and say "Here son, this could be you next year."
