I see we have commitments from Logan and Alexander.

What are our chances with Rashard Lawrence and others? Who do the experts think we'll wind up with?

Most people you ask will tell you Lawrence will be a tiger.

We have to get Lawrence.

We seem to have backed off Blacklock after a sub par senior year. We seem out of the running for Ed Oliver. Doesn't appear we are making a go at Stephon Taylor (not sure why). And I'm not betting on us getting Rashan Gary. I can't think of any other DTs.

And some feel Logan can be a DE...we'll see.

So we really really need Lawrence.

edit: Forgot about Shavar Manuel and Raekwon Davis. Shavar talk seems to have died down and I'm not sure what happens with Davis.

Yeah Gooden is a possibility too. Listed as a DE, but yeah I think DT is his future.

According to the "LSU Coaches Hit the Road" thread, Coach O and Wilson and Peveto went to see Rashard Lawrence on Sunday.

Is Gooden being looked at for DT and DE?

Well he's a DE in college, but I think he's being looked at as a DT.

If his measurables of 6'4" and 275 lbs are accurate, he has the frame for either position.

We have Ed Alexander committed and he has a ton of raw ability. He will probably put on a good 10-15 pounds and still be cat quick off the ball. He will have a big learning curve coming from a smaller school though. But he is every bit a 5* talent

Glen Logan has slimmed down and gained a lot of speed and quickness off the line. He's gonna be a Tyson Jackson type DE at like 280 that will be able to set the edge and not get us killed off edge running plays opposite Key.

Rashard Lawrence is priority number one to close it out and I think Orgeron gets him if he's still in staff at LSU past signing day which I would guess he will be. He's a guy that plays in Louisianas highest classification that can probably come in and play early.

Stephon Taylor is probably one that we can have if we turn up the heat. He's a little more slight in the pants than some of the other guys but he has offers from pretty much everyone out there, and he could come into play down the stretch.

Rashan Gary I have to think stays up north, unless we get that 5th official visit and O can work some magic.

Shavar Manuel seems to have fallen down the board. Maybe comes back onto O's radar if we strike out on others?

Raekwon Davis I don't see us pulling a kid from Meridian Mississippi but O doesn't see it that way. We'll see

It's between Bama and LSU. I think his heart is with LSU but Bama is hard to beat. He'll start at LSU a year earlier than at Bama.

I think Logan ends up at end.

Speculation on my part: Sign Raekwon, lose Lawrence. Sign one more DT to wrap it up. Just don't have a finger on that.

I think we've lost the momentum we had with Gary but Michigan's Defensive Coordinator took a job at Maryland today and Auburn's coordinator is strongly considered for the SC job. All this has to factor in his decision.

Lawrence has been pretty solid in his intention to sign with LSU. He enjoys the visits, perks, and attention with recruiting and wanted to focus on senior season. One thing that could have caused us to lose him would have been coach O leaving. I can tell you that keeping coach O is a major priority of Miles and he has indicated that he loves being at LSU. Going to need to be promoted to defensive coordinator in the next year or two to keep him here.

Rashard Lawrence is a lock. Shavar Manuel is 50/50.
