Do any of you recruiting board veterans remember if LSU recruited him? He left NOLA because of Katrina when he was 13. Relocated in Houston and the rest is history.
He must be about the same age as Mathieu. Anybody remember if he was a great youth league player in the city?
Congrats to another Louisiana athlete that was chased from home by Katrina (ala DJ Augustin).

He's good player, he's bulked up and just became a really gold player. IMO a late bloomer that TCU found a nice gem. Chucky Hunter is a beast though it really would of been nice to have him at LSU this year(he went to West Monroe).

That makes sense. We recruit current stud college QBs for athletes or DBs, I could see a current stud NCAA safety recruited out of High School by LSU as a QB.
Respect to Cameron, but perhaps the best QB on the team is currently learning to play DB - Devin Voorhies. Just saying, given the track record it would make perfect sense, right?

LSU looked at him his junior year, then backed off.
This isn't the reason LSU backed off, but he switched schools right before his senior year and there were a lot of rumblings about having issues with the coaches and his dad taking money from a local HS booster. Three of the coaches from his previous school were suspended from coaching in TX, right after he left, for changing grades and using football funds for "assisting" kids.

Its just how LA rolls. Last qb from LA to get drafted was stefon lafors.
This is also why I got to give the staff props. LA was down for quite a few years because of Katrina.
