T. Taylor trending towards Tigers...

Just checked Crystal Ball predictions on Taylor and in past couple of days he has received crystals from both AU (Niebuhr) and GA (Kipp Adams) insiders.
Phillips, Taylor, and Queen with either Chaisson/Bryant would be a complete Lber class. All 4 spots filled.

At any time literally, there has been nothing official about any announcement yet. It could just be a twitter thing

I'd prefer Gay to Taylor because Gay is just barely not a five star and probably should be. He has 4.5 speed relative to Taylor's 5.01 speed. He's also a better athlete. Not to mention, that we need another outside linebacker as opposed to an inside linebacker. I also saw two new CBs projecting Gay to commit to the tigers earlier today.

Bud, we need as many Inside guys as possible, we are actually loaded with OLB's at the moment. Getting Andre Anthony eligible now is just like adding an early enrollee.
Gay would be nice, but it does not make or break this class, now not getting Taylor would hurt, he's a thumper that we need next to Phillips. Everything on the linebacker front after that would just be gravy

Taylor is the priority here, our only ilb that's played is White & we run a 3-4, Taylor is being sold on immediate playing time & i think he'll take that..

ILB definitely bigger need.
Gay could play either. Could easily get to 230-235.
Another 4.5 inside Lber would be great, but imo the most important traits for that position are instincts, getting off blocks, being a good striker/tackler, and overall athleticism.
Taylor would not be as good in coverage as Gay, but I'd sure take him and feel good about it.

Gay could play inside too... but you're right that he doesn't make or break us because of Taylor.

Taylor is the LB in the 'great 2017 LB hunt' that I've considered the most important. Excepting Phillips, which was one helluva bonus. Above 5.0 40? Ignore that. The word that comes to mind with him is "solid". By that I mean he's got enough of all the tools/skills in every area; well rounded might be the better term. And yeah, he's physically stout too. He can be that centerpiece to a D with development. The guy who other teams try to run away from and TE's keep their head on a swivel for.

His film shows him being more athletic than a 5.0 40. He played LB, WR, and RB in high school and is very instinctive in coverage and around the line of scrimmage. 40 times mean absolutely nothing if you can play football. He reminds me of a little better version of Lamin Barrow.

"Nothing", is a stretch. You have to have some speed. That being said this guy looks faster on his film than a 5.0, he has good acceleration which can make up for a slow 40 time if there isnt much space for the runner.
