Gavin Corder got his personal best today at 57 yards. He got it a few months ago but this is the 1st time he's practiced in months. He has been playing varsity soccer for the past few months. It would have been good from 60 bc the man lift was 5 yards behind the goal posts and Gavin nailed it if you listen. 9th grader at St.Frederick Catholic High School.

Good contact on sweet spot of ball. Needs to work in movements through the kick. Plant foot seemed to be anchored. Needs to work on "skipping through" the kick. Kickers that have a propensity to anchor that plant foot down and not skip tend to create a pivot point and start moving their swing leg right to left giving the ball a hook. Overall fairly sound mechanics. Should be one to watch.

You are 100% right Barrister. We have been working on him with that for a while now. He tends to put all the force on his thighs and he gain a lot more yardage if he consistently did a skip through.

He was invited to LSU last year and now Auburn sent him a letter to personally invite him to their camp in June.

Yes, much better. I like what I see. He has good forward momentum toward the ball - - stays on the balls of his feet - - stays fluid and compact in his approach. Very good mechanics on that last video.

Chris Sailer has the contract to run the LSU camp. I think Jamie Kohl's runs a much better program, but to each his own. I am guessing Sailer may have gotten the contract to run the Auburn camp as I know several kickers who attended LSU's camp last year who got an unsolicited invite to the Auburn camp. This leads me to believe Sailer either got the contract or sold his mail list.

Harley,

I'm assuming this is your son. Does he have a private coach?

Yes, his trainer is ex LA Tech kicker Matt Nelson who directly works with retired NFL Michael Husted.

Matt is a good dude. Started his own camps for a while and I heard he had partnered up with an ex-NFL kicker. Thought it might be Scobee because of the La Tech connection but Husted makes sense too.

Best of luck to you guys and I'll keep my eye on him the next few years
