That had to be one of the worse acting jobs ever by his mom. She is only trying to curtail the massive backlash that the family will receive.

They cut back and when they were hugging and shite he turned to his mom and she would barely hug him. Before she hugged him, she shook his head and told him "I can't believe you just did that."
