Nola Recruiting

Just a nice little read on the recent events with LSU recruiting. Gage apparently has caught the eye of the Tigers. They will most likely offer him after watching him early next year.

LSU still after Adoree' Jackson too.

Also, Robinson should be enrolling soon finally!!!!

"The Tigers believe that Robinson has top-five NFL Draft potential."

That's some serious hype.

I would like to third this sentiment.

Also, and I'm sure this goes for bwall and oau, it's not because I think he's not talented. Just not enough room at the inn. He'll be a steal for someone though.

I wish Mizzou would dip into Louisiana a bit more than they have. He'd be a good player for them.

While the situation regarding Ramirez's recruitment is fairly public at this point, Redemptorist standout Russell Gage still remains off the media's hit list. That should change really soon. Gage was sensational at the LSU elite prospect camp as well as the LSU 7-on-7 camp in July. Due to the Ramirez offer being handed out a day before Gage's arrival, he left camp without an offer, but there is a plan in place. LSU is extremely high on Gage, and once his senior season gets underway, the Tigers will be there in full force with an offer in hand. Sources say it will be a quick process, and that Gage is being eyed as a safety. Expect both Ramirez and Gage to be in this class no later than the first week in September.

If we have room, I hope we offer him because he did turn heads at the camp. If we do not have room, grey shirt should be the only offer.

Did Gage play last year for RHS? hard to see how he went unnoticed if he is that good. if he is expected to get an offer so soon why are the coaches waiting. just offer him. i dont see why they are waiting to see him. They have the film and the camp. I just looked up RHS score results from last season and i see why. it doesn seem like anybody was on the field defensively last year. The parkview game which was early in the season was 69 to 0. goodness

Yes.

He is a good player, but I don't think he's a LSU level. That said, when I saw him play when it was very clear he was the good player on a very bad team. It could have been a case of just going through the motions, wanting the season to be over.

It's very possible he could develop into a great player, but I don't know if there's room to take that chance on him.

not judging the kid; but it's easy to look good on a bad team. i just looked at the scores for RHS last year and they were blown away on defense. giving up 60, 50 and 40 points. noone can do it all; but i dont know if you take a chance on a kid who had a good camp and film is not impressive. But i do trust Jimmy Smith and he is really campaigning hard for this kid

it's hard to see what happens at that position. It's kinda hard to know any position really with all the silent commits/uncommitted guys. This year is like no other

This was also the case on here with Brandon Harris at one point. If he impresses the coaches enough to get an offer, it'll be good enough for me.
