“She was the best offensive threat in the district and it got to a point where teams wouldn’t even pitch to her,” Larriba said. “She had 14 walks in the last eight games and 20 in district, which was 37 percent of her plate appearances.”

Thought you meant national offensive poy. All signees should at least make an all district team...

I know. Just an update on a signee. She is a phenomenal hitter!

Yeah so did I but regardless this will be one hell of a recruiting class coming in. Beth will bring us a NC before long. We keep knocking on the door but we will kick that SOB in at some point

Not necessarily, LSU has a signee in that same district not on that team because she was hurt.

What position would she play? C 3B 1B or LF? Can she step in as a true Freshman?

Springfield was recruited to play 1B, she has a very good bat. She seems fine on defense when I watched her. Definitely not a liability on D

She'll play 1B. As of now, it's open so she has a legit chance to step in.

Nice article 357 and SS might be a good replacement for SS who really shinned with power in this last part of the season.

Springfield definitely will be important for us early on this season. We will need her bat early, we are replacing Bell, Kloss, and Simmons.

I think Doyle could play 1B as well but she was recruited to play 3rd. Doyle will be starting somewhere in the infield.

Dawson or Weinberger will compete for that last of spot. I think Dawson would be best in CF. If Dawson transitions to college level like most expect, I think she will play somewhere in the OF for us

357, what's your twitter @?

I'll make an account so we can discuss LSU softball offline, or should I say off the msg boards.

I can make one, I don't have one. I never did like or could get into Twitter. All the hashtags annoy me

My biggest concern is replacing the power threat. As good as Jaquish and Bell were at least some of their success could be attributed to the protection they provided for each other. Now, Jaquish is alone in the middle with no Bell, Kloss or Simmons. We need someone like this to really step up and protect Jaquish to keep our middle punch alive and well.

Sydney or Amanda Doyle have to pull this load from the 2016 class and someone already on the team has to make drastic improvement. Those three we lost leave huge holes in the lineup.

Doyle, Springfield and Dawson will be heavily relied on next season. Obviously We won't have the power like numbers like the other years due to a lot of inexperience. I think they will get there though eventually, all are capable of hitting over .300. Doyle and Springfield are capable of hitting over or around 10 hrs each this coming season.

Also, I would keep an eye on Shemiah Sanchez, she definitely will have a lot of looks next season. Cunngiham also has a very good bat, she has played and done well against the top players in travel ball. She will catch a lot next season I would expect. Torina has always had dual catchers.

Nope, that would be none other than the SLAPPER Nicky Dawson.

I'm still surprised she didn't get more looks during our offensive woes
