Eta...never mind. No sense is a pissing contest.
LA travel ball isn't nearly as competitive as it is in Cali or TX, for example. Coaches in LA have for years been able to recruit talent and win games and be labeled as great coaches in TB. Beth has said that coaches in LA don't teach fundamentals. And she is right for the overwhelming majority. As least as it is in relation to many other more competitive states. And that's a big reason why she recruits out of state so much.
As far as Nicky's best attribute being her speed....that's like saying Tyson's best attribute was his uppercut. Take away his uppercut and he'd still beat the shite out of every one of us.

This is why the top LA players like Hemphill (Bama) and Dawson (LSU) move to elite teams like the East Cobb Bullets. I believe they could very well be two of the top 5 or 6 position players in the country from right here in little ole Louisiana.
LA Voodoo has been far and away the best team in Louisiana for a long time but they are still very middle of the pack when the go to the big national tourneys.

So Corbello and Lockwood are 2 of 4 leaving. Who are the other 2? Thanks

I think Bourg is done at LSU, I heard a rumor a month ago that she was already looking else where. Plus with this past freshman class, and incoming one, it will be very difficult to find playing time.

She said she was leaving a couple days ago

As a retired HS softball coach in Texas who still runs the Texas Prep Softball website for our coaches with over 800 coaches as members, I usually can get the information when needed.

This is nonsense.... All three girls who are transferring from LSU played for the Patriot Gold. Which is by far the best travel team in LA. Landry and Thornhill were also on the same travel team. They came in the top 10 in the nation the last few years and blow everyone out the water. That is a fact! There are teams to play on in this state that help girls compete at the highest level. LSU can pull kids from anywhere and they get the best talent available and no one can blame them for that. Personally I don't think the kids from LA get a fair shake sometimes on the field or with the scholarships being given. A lot of that has to do with TOPS and the percentage a LA resident can get for showing up with good grades. Hate it when a kid shows up in any sport from out of state and isn't as good LA kid who got passed over. It happens everyday. Every kid LSU gives a scholarship to has a ton of talent. Most of it comes down to if they can consistently hit SEC type pitching. That will only be tested when they get on campus. Girls in LA who want to make it to the next level and play on a team based out of LA should play for the Patriot Gold. Last years team included 5 ex-patriots. It is just that simple.

She is committed to another D1 college in this state already. Great Kid, she is going to light it up!

No, just no. The Patriots are a good local team but they have never been considered a Top 100 team much less Top 10 team. They played in the IDT B tourney last year in Colorado and made it to the finals.
Teams like Batbusters, SoCal A's, Firecrackers Rico, Corona Angels, Gold Coast Hurricanes, Birmingham Thunderbolts, East Cobb Bullets, SoCal Choppers, Beverly Bandits and 75 more are at a completely different level than the Patriots.
I believe by finishing in the finals of the B tourney in Colorado last year they will get an invite to the big tourney that has around 164 slots.
I love the local Patriots and appreciate the players but they are nowhere near the level of a Top 10 travel team in the USA. I'm not even sure they have ever faired better nationally than the Louisiana Voodoo.
