I'm not on any of the paysites, but it seems like the class has started much slower than prior years as well as compared to others. Could this be somewhat attributed to Frank leaving? Other insight or "details"?

I would think it has more to do with Alleva than Frank.

They haven't even had jr days yet.
They will likely pick up some commitments after Boys from the boot and the other jr day with some out of staters.

We had a few more guys in that class, including Dylan Moses that decommited amongst the Miles fiasco

This.

We usually only have a few going into the summer, but should pickup at least five after the camps in June and August

it doesn't have anything to do with frank leaving. he just left in the last 2 weeks. likely means we will be going for more oos guys than in previous years. 2017 looks great at the top but no where near as deep as 2016.

I learned a long time ago to not worry about recruiting as long as Miles is here. Its undue stress. Losing Frank is a loss, no doubt. But, Miles understands adversity as well as anyone in the game today. The AD, Saban having coached at LSU and met all the LA high school coaches, or the 5 for 5 debacle are just little bumps in the road for Miles. He'll make it happen in the end.

Alleva's handling of Miles and the complete fiasco that came from it was much more detrimental than Frank leaving last week. Losing Frank is a big loss. He was one of the best recruiters in the nation. List the players that decommitted since his departure. Exactly. So THUS FAR, Alleva hurt 2017 recruiting far more than Frank leaving.

They were off to a blazing start but Moses and the kid from Tennessee decommitted.

No he didn't. He decommitted before that. The wide receiver from Tenn. decommitted during that time.

not really, he decommitted the day the dead period started, that was a good 3 weeks after the Miles saga was settled.

I'm sure it's a combination of all of the thoughts mentioned in the thread, but, I would think, the recruiting coordinator has the biggest impact on early commits from future classes while the other's focus on wrapping up the next class. If his mind was on leaving after the past season, maybe he didn't put as much focus on it, just a thought.

Let's focus on getting the sigs on our 2016 commits and picking up about 5 more new commitments. Then, we can look at 2017 and get Junior, Dylan, and duplicate the talent level in this class. Patience !!!

Because those that blame Alleva don't understand his role and the limits of his authority.
