Honest assessment JJ27, Bolden, is he on the same level as Diarse was at Neville playing defensive back, receiver, and quarterback, or Rueben Randle was at Bastrop? This is not a trick question. Honest.

I believe Bolden is the best pure athlete in louisiana next year and was last year as a junior, but he isn't necessarily great at any position (kind of like Diarse was).

I can't give that assessment. I fully admit bias for family.

Alright, you want my assessment than lol..

Bolden is legit. He is in the same mold as Diarse. I think he is worthy of an offer from all big schools in the SEC. The kid can play. I think West Monroe misused him last year and he should have NEVER left the field except to drink some gatorade. He is faster than Diarse, but Diarse had the length and size advantage.

Bolden is going to climb in the rankings and by the end of the summer I believe he will be a 4 star player without question. If I am wrong I'll admit it. LSU will offer before summers end and he will commit to LSU.

Didn't he camp at Arkansas not too long ago? If so why didn't they offer him, they love offering our guys.

Last Summer. He played 8 7v7 games on Friday, then drove up there for the camp.

They didn't offer a single person at the camp.

If the kid from Ouachita can get an offer, Bolden will most definitely get an offer. Warren was highly underrated for some reason I don't quite grasp, but Bolden is ever bit as good as Warren is himself.

Athlete.

After watching highlights I conclude:

Could easily get lots of playing time at special teams early. Good hands and could fit in as a motion/slot wr that can play some running back but don't see him as an every down back.

Pretty much everyone wants him in the slot. A few want him as a RB/Slot/Returner

In my opinion he has 4 star talent at receiver. Very quick, with great hands. He gets a lot of yac yards with great speed downfield. Makes tough catches in traffic also.

Also, nitwit, West Monroe did not use him in the slot all the time. When he did, he abused.

I personally didn't buy the hype about Bolden at all at first. I'll be flat honest. But, then I watched all his games last year that I could watch and compared them to all the other top flight athletes in Louisiana. What stood out more than anything was his ability to play physical in the slot beating anyone and anything in front of him whether defensive back or linebacker. He uses his hands to catch the ball and not his body and runs great routes and gets open. But, what really makes him a 4 star recruit is he has all this, but he also has home-run speed. He is fast, very fast.

He is the real deal when used properly. When West Monroe played the best 3 teams they played all year they refused to allow Foust to run the show and move Bolden around the line of scrimmage to create mismatches to open up the running game. Their coaching in big games against big time teams has slacked regardless of what their fans insinuate. He can play at LSU, that I guarantee you.

So he's a faster Trey Quinn with better hands?

No, Quinn was faster. Quinn was supposedly sub 4.4.

I've never seen him drop a pass...ever. Whether that means he has better hands than Quinn, I couldn't tell you.

Also, Bolden is more physical than Quinn ever was. I saw Quinn play multiple times. Quinn only lacked physicality as did DeSean Smith. Bolden is extremely physical in the slot; very quick off the line with great feet; uses hands very well; and has speed to get downfield for the big play. Before it is all said and done he will hold offers from all the spread teams we know about nationally including Texas A&M.

West Monroe holds back film too much for anyone here to watch and see. LSU will offer. No doubt about it. With West Monroe having about 4 players coming up in the next few years that will be big time recruits; LSU ready to take back North Louisiana; and Bolden being the top recruit out of the WM/Monroe area next year; you see that it is only logical they will attempt to make in-roads here again.

Malcom Moore for West Monroe who will be a '20 player will be phenom, as will Gleason. Their defensive front in 2 years will have 3 players that will all go big time in Boyer, Moore, and Gleason. Get the licks in while teams can next year is all I can say.

4.4s in a controlled environment is one thing, but I never saw Quinn at LSU do anything remotely resemble that type of speed on the field. If he had that type of FOOTBALL SPEED AND ABILITY he would have stayed at LSU or certainly went somewhere other than SMU.

Again, that's straight line speed for 40 yards, where people can be trained to become mini sprinters - not in a game with defenders coming at all angles. On the field, Slade juked and outran many athletes (with the angle) with the ball in his hands.

I will also say that before his junior season, I thought he would be a La. Tech - maybe TCU - type player. He's smart, is a monster in space and knows when to not take the unnecessary hits. He will absolutely be able to play in the slot at LSU.

Absolutely! My son is a '20 receiver and I've told him that I'd be shocked if they don't win at least one State Championship during his time on the time.

I've heard many people say this. I think they fell into the trap of seeing an athlete play 2 years and thinking that was it. That's all you usually see of kids in HS. Since he started as a freshman, people just kinda thought that was it. He's grown 3-4 inches and gained 29 pounds, 170 as a freshman to 199 when he weighed recently for an SEC school. He's gotten faster, while adding that weight as well.

I always thought he'd be a baseball player. Not that he's doing poorly in that sport at all. He's hitting clean up and I believe he's hitting .600 so far in 4-5 games with 10 RBIs and a HR. He's turned the corner in football though. Plus, baseball just can't compete with football when it comes to scholarship money.
