Since no Chase; Staff needs overtime for Slade

Chase committing early to Florida could be a huge blessing in the future if all plays out right.
Slade Bolden commits before the beginning of the season. LSU needs to commit all available resources TOMORROW into making sure we get his commitment.
If we lose out on both Bolden and Chase (two best slot receivers in this class in Louisiana) this offensive class will be subpar.
Stop wasting resources on Chase; we have limited schollys; we can't afford to lose another slot receiver to another school.
These two players were extremely similar and both are as good as the other. This doesn't have to be a loss and it wont' be if we can secure Bolden before the start of the season.

I think Bolden is a good prospect, but not sure I agree with this. This offensive class will be subpar if our O-Line recruits don't pan out. Plenty of good WR's out there. There are like 6 or 7 of them in Louisiana alone.
Just checked...7 of 247's top 15 Lousiana players are WR's. Out of Lousiana, other states, & JUCO...we won't have a problem finding good WR prospects. We already have 2 of the 7, & Marshall/Keys are probable at this point.
Anyway, when was the last time our offense wasn't good due to lack of WR's or RB's? Our offense needs good O-Line & QB play to make us an efficient offense.

I've seen both play; I've watched Keys film and the kid from Jena.
Chase was the only other player I saw on film that could come close to comparing to Bolden's presence outside Tight End or out wide.
Make no mistake about it. If we lose both of these two (great possibility) it will be a huge loss. You can spin it how you wish, but that is just the truth. Also, West Monroe is sitting on two big time future prospects for 2019 in Gleason and Hutchinson and slow playing their top player isn't going to sit too well either.

I'm hoping we get bolden but we def have some ground to make up.. his visit at bama was one of the best and all of his tcu experiences have been top notch. LSU really has been slacking with him and need to step it up because we are running out of time! Really hope they do because Canada could use him in so many ways

We're a solid 7 months away from NSD. We have plenty of time to gain some ground on any recruit in the country. Winning helps a lot. With our staff of great recruiters, and the potential for a great season, look for the recruiting trail to heat up quick.
No worries!

Bama is just using Bolden to get to their future recruits. That is how Saban works.
He could excel at Bama no doubt as they use their slot receivers very well. But, they are truly looking hard at Gleason and Hutchinson. The only reason Gleason isn't as well-known is because he has been putting in his time at school and not hitting all these camps. He is going to be a top 10 defensive end in 2019 without a doubt while Hutchinson is likely the same at Defensive Tackle. Then they have a monster sophomore class with big time talent to boot.
Two months ago I spoke exactly to this very scenario taking shape. I said that Orgeron and Canada couldn't slow play West Monroe and the Monroe area anymore and that they would have to not only offer Bolden a scholly but return to making an emphasis of recruiting all the star players from this area as a top priority.
When Cameron Robinson committed in 2014 you saw Cameron Sims and Hootie Jones follow. Bama was all over all 3. Robinson is the only one of those 3 to even make a dent, but that is how Bama rolled. They are doing it again here with Bolden. Show him the red-carpet and treat him like he is a top priority. Then in two years hutchinson and Gleason will be treated with the same love with a brother who will be in their ear to tell them how great Bama is.
I don't quite understand how a lot of our posters don't understand how the game goes.
Bolden is a player who will succeed at the next level. We need all the types of receivers we can get this class (has anyone glanced at our depth chart?). West Monroe and Monroe has to become a top priority again as the talent in Monroe has been moving eastward and westward too often lately. Shite, Turpin from Neville is better than any receiver outside Shark on our squad as of now and we didn't even attempt to make a move there.
I might as well just write off Monroe/West Monroe area to Bama and TCU from here on out. The posters on this board seem to think it isn't that much of a priority to offer and make the top players from this area a must get.

Kamryn Babb is the guy I hope they really start going after.
Posted on 7/23/17 at 11:45 pm to smash williams
Agreed babb is a stud!! Really wish he'd be more in play and Watkins being recruited at WR could mean he could commit soon as well! He's looked damn good all summer

Really think the staff might have pissed away bolden.. If we do lose out on him I guess it's time to press on keys, babb, watkins and obviously Marshall. Plus there are a few other guys interested that would be great gets. Plus Guidry I know isn't a board favorite but he has shown up to camp this summer and from coaches said he found Jesus. Completely different guy so motivated and finally living up to the potential. Got his head right finally and his grades are better than ok he's no risk as of now!! Really wish they'd look at him more he'd be stud at LSU. Guy just had god given skills just hasn't had his head right. Finally matured and playing how he should be so def one to keep your eye on

Assuming he has changed...I wouldn't complain if we landed Guidry again. The talent has always been there. He's the #2 overall JUCO in the country.

You really can't be serious? Just stop posting, really. Save yourself the embarrassment or are you related to Bolden?

Chase a slot receiver? Thank god you're not a coach

Yea he kinda lost all credibility when he said they are very similar wr's. They almost couldn't be any more different

Bingo!! You can't miss on all of them, but WR's rarely "make or break" teams. It's a relatively down year for the state of Louisiana as a whole, but the best players appear to be WR's or DB's. OL, DL, QB are the impact positions that are hard to find.
I hope the kid does come to LSU. He seems like a good local player, but I don't think his being a part of the class is "absolutely necessary."

While I agree with you, Idk how this will play out since WM's head coach was O's DL coach at Northwestern.

JJ does Slade not have a commitable offer from LSU?
Posted on 7/24/17 at 8:57 am to Lester Earl
Couldn't tell you. I know he talks to O all the time. Loves him to death. Like I said waaaaaay back in the Spring. He's not going to make an impulse decision. Everything will be weighed extensively before committing. He's not going to decommit/change his mind.
