That's not how I read it at all. Maybe you view everything with a negative twist? You can twist any positive into a negative if you want

From Dandy Don:

There’s another recruiting-related questions I've been asked a handful of times lately that I want to go ahead and publicly address. The question has various forms, but usually goes something like this:
Let’s be honest, Scott. If you were a highly-recruited elite player who could go anywhere in the country, would you really choose LSU?”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where does the hypothetical question imply the kid is from La.?

Scott answered the question from both perspectives.
1). An elite athlete from Louisiana
2). An OOS elite athlete
How anyone could read anything negative into this is beyond me? Scott is a very positive individual about LSU football. "Supersaint9", being from Louisiana, responded to the "Instate Elite Athlete" comment portion of Scott's article.

I thought the article was very good, enjoyable, and presented a very positive perspective for elite athletes making the choice for LSU football.

I guess though each of us has the right to make our own decision about things.

i'm all for the home state pride angle, but its not a great selling point to all recruits...and LSU needs TX,MS,FL to name a few.

LSU just needs to start beating bama and playing championship ball! Not losing to OM or Ark. This will change the perception for these kids. And if not then they were never coming to LSU. If we land most of our big recruits then that would help in that direction. We now have real QB depth for years which is something we were missing when our D was playing so good. LSU is coming around and with Cam C as OC we will always have a pretty good offense. LSU is coming no matter what these kids do and once that happens we won't lose a lot of these kids and if we do I'm sure we will have someone to replace em.

OL prospect is the only position IMO, that you would have to seriously consider going to another school rather than LSU.

Also how important is education. If my son received a scholly from Stanford or even an academic to an Ivy League school, I would try to persuade him to go that route.

I agree with you but it's not like LSU is Pollyanna Tech. I mean good lord it's a great school academically as well. I've never heard of someone in the business world turning their nose up at an LSU education . I agree with your comments about the o-line though. Hopefully Stud will get his walking papers and they make a good hire there.

For the other posters comments about out of state prospects,
Scott gave his opinion as to why someone from out of state would choose LSU as well. We definitely want and need those guys. I think some people may be missing the point of his post.
IMO he is saying that LSU has a lot to offer both kids instate and out. He gave his thoughts about what it would mean for him if he was an elite prospect from Louisiana and the advantages that LSU offers for out of state kids. I agree with everything in his post. Sadly some people read it and interpreted it negatively. I didn't see it that way at all. I thought it was extremely positive and well written.
