Aranda is at Baylor, much harder to attract top talent there.

The other two have been on the job a few days more than Kelly.

Most of ours that signed were O recruits…

That’s pretty disappointing for Riley. I figured some of the west coast guys would be itching to play for him.

Your comment is accurate, but also shows that O didn't leave things quite as bad as people let on. I supported his ouster nevertheless.

#33 is fantastic for Baylor. Aranda will do wonders with that level of talent just like he did at Wisconsin.

If any of those players are smarter than Top 10 talent Aranda will be able to use schemes other players will be unable to execute. This is how a good coach can beat better athletic talent.

LSU sitting at 18 with a coaching change is actually pretty good. Once Frank and Kelly have a full recruiting cycle, we can expect great things on the recruiting front.

Also accurate, but I meant that O apparently found guys this year who committed to LSU and not him. Our class compared to Florida's and USC's is very refreshing. Things could be much worse.

LSU at 18 with the chance to finish higher if the close out strong in February is actually incredible after the purge.

Aranda was so bad at recruiting that he wasn’t sent out to do visits . Zero personality. He is winning with upperclassman recruited by Rhule. Fools gold.

5* players are fast becoming the root of all evil when it comes to college football. Opt outs, fake injuries, transfers, some programs are going to die.

There’s a reason why programs like Baylor and Cincinnati are having success with lower ranked players out of high school! These kids are working to get to that next level, they weren’t guaranteed it out of high school.

They are also winning because they are not in the SEC or, to a lesser degree, the Big 10.

I get it and maybe it was a bad analogy, but as I stated in a previous thread, the LSU defenses improvement wasn’t just the switch to the 3-4 and adding blitz packages, these players had something to prove and played their asses off. Damone Clarke is a clear example of this. Although he played hard all season, the kid played his heart out and made himself a lot of money.

I am worried that even the sport of recruiting is ruined. Whereas we’d be excited for that 4* WDE (Landon Jackson) to fill up a class with rock solid depth we can now assume 1/3 will transfer out after their first year if they don’t get rotated in enough…. Then we have this constant “when will superstar (Boutte) transfer for Bama” paranoia. Better get used to rooting for yellow hats

That’s because these kids wanted to come to LSU. Didn’t matter who the coach was, they wanted to play for the purple and gold.

Surprised Riley didn’t sign Ricks. Wish he had. Ricks can play if he ever gets his head straight.

K, Check back in February. Calm down with these posts, They've had 1 day to sign players.

I understand making these posts to praise BK, but LSU has been way ahead of Baylor, USC, & UF for recruiting in past years.

Correct--and that reason is because they don't have to play teams that are stacked with 4 and 5 star talent.

Recruiting solely 3* kids with one or two low-end 4*s here and there works when you are in the AAC or even the big 12, but it doesn't work in the SEC. You can beat a team with elite talent if you only play one or two of them per year, but you're not gonna make it through a schedule where you have to play teams like that every single week for your entire schedule. Cincy and Baylor would both be 4 loss teams if they were in the SEC west.

Like it or not, you have to recruit blue chips if you want to compete in the SECW and contend for national titles.
