Just curious if ya'll think we jumped the gun a little with the early recruits. It seems there are alot of big time names showing interest. Of course i dont who we get rid off, i like them all.

This happens every year. The big names always put us in the mix to

1) get a badass free trip
2) build some hype around their commitment

I think the coaches have a gut feel but phone calls are cheap and considering the LSU budget, free trips and visits to the recruit don't break the bank.

A school like Hawaii or some California schools are the ones where they really have to worry about recruits screwing with them.

It's kind of hard to argue with Miles' talent evaluations after all the success he has had at LSU. I doubt he will be changing his philosophy. You don't take kids early, unless you really like them as a staff.

nobody's legitimately screwing with us.. just some kids have a slight interest, so they think, "why not visit lsu"

Historically I've felt this way every year but over the last couple of years have learned I don't know shite and Les and Co deserve every benefit of the doubt.

It's also a two way street. I am sure the coaches realize a few of the players that came for the visit fell in love with LSU and everything the football program has to offer. The "If they visit, they will come" factor at LSU is as strong as any in College Football.

We all know guys who didn't commit still raved about their visit. In a few cases that made future recruiting easier at their high school and sometimes in the area of the state where they played.

Having big time recruits visit is never a bad situation.

Having the current coaching staff evaluating players has also been great.

Exactly. Even if it's a half-hearted visit initially, just getting them over here gives us a shot to turn them

I ching

Ouija board

crystal ball. LSU has a couple. each crystal ball has unique properties. one can tell if the kid is going to be a real deal.
the other can tell if the kid is serious or just looking to feed his ego-trip.
