It's all about perception if a recruit sees you have a top five class he might think they are doing something right and take a look at your school
If you are ranked 45th but have a ton of diamonds in the rough nobody will pay attention to your school

If teams win championships on the field.....recruits will take notice. For example, no matter how many top 5 recruiting classes ole miss has in the next 3 years, if they can't do better than 4th in the west the top recruits won't give them a second look.

It's what you do on the field. Space suit uniforms, billion dollar dressing rooms and the like may convince a few blue chippers to look at you close, but unless you're greasing the palm, you don't go from zero to perennial contender overnight. Nothing beats exposure and winning, and they go hand in hand.

I agree that has a major role in it as well but look at ole miss a perfect example we pull this top 10 class and we are recruiting like we have never have before its all about exposure to Rpus your program and highly rate prospects give you that exposure

Nothing with Rivals shocks me, but jumping Mixon 3 spots at the RB position and essentially 12 spots nationally without even a game being played just on summer camp showing, I don't see it. Like I said doesn't mean it won't happen, Rivals sucks but until they come out with the new top 100 I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they aren't that bad! We will find out tomorrow.

Alot of it has to do with offseason camps being geared towards 7 on 7 and pass catching competitions. When the pads come on give me fournette all day. I don't know if AP would be ranked number 1 in the NFL if all they watched was 7v7s all summer/spring. Come Sunday ill take him though

If it indicates that bama is making a bigger push for Mixon then that's alright with me. Although, I seriously doubt that's the case.

it's usually around 12 central but if you watch the profiles some stuff will leak a few minutes early.

They rank them early after watching them play their entire junior season, then they penalize the kids in the rankings who don't have the means to go to all the camps over the summer. So basically a kid who crushes it on the field in actual games falls behind kids who show up at these camps and run a fast 40 or jump really high. I guess it makes it more interesting though.

Yeah, but in their defense, it's the only way to evaluate most of these kids. It's not like basketball where you can play 2-3 game a day. But, if LF gets jumped, I will be beside myself.
