That's too many safeties.

After this year we are only losing Ward, Cam, Todd right?

Burns
Langlois
Ryan
Derrick
Matthews

Returning

We definitely need 2 TE next class

If ward plays great , if he’s a normal saftey , production wise, we get him back. Hell he may not be able to leave anyway ,isn’t he a sophomore though?

I know he’s not a senior

I don’t think he comes here.

But if O lands Arch, hot damn!

If you happen to look into the comments IOL TJ Shanahan basically says we leave, "top 2 and not 2".

Surprised he doesn't have Jalen Hale in his class. I know that's four WRs, but do we know how good Deion's brother actually is?

I'm really surprised about Jalen Hale as well. I am talking to some Longview folks recently and he really enjoyed the hell out of that visit and connected with the offensive staff.

Sage and matthews are likely to take the nickel db role, and rover similar to stevens. Those 2 will be all over the field, but maybe not in the set 2 deep safety roles. 4-2-5 is likely what we sit 90% in going forward with spread pass happy offenses.

I have read that Tackett Curtis has been trending away from LSU. Do we feel good about him?

There's no way we get him unless something drastically changes. There's certainly no way I'd put him in a '23 class prediction right now. He's made it very apparent his interest in LSU is basically nil. He visited like a dozen schools this summer and LSU wasn't one of them.

Only 2 5 stars is a little underselling. If LSU has a great year this year, which I think they will. We should have another elite class again next year.

I've heard this story before. Let's just see what happens between now and his signing day.

The 2021 class only had one guy who was a 5 star across the board (Maason Smith). We still had a top 5 class, so depends on the depth of the rest of the class. Hopefully, we have a big year but hold on to some of these good, young coaches.

Things can always change, but this is a slightly different scenario in that his uncle is his head coach and he's made it apparent he doesnt like LSU much for "not recruiting Many well enough" - so we have that working against us.

It's not only his own coach but relative in his ear about not coming here. Also it doesnt sound like Tackett grew up and LSU fan or anything. Him visiting like a dozen schools this summer and not even showing up here is pretty telling.

There is a WHOLE lot of room for an elite class with only 2 5*s. 5* dudes are definitely nice to get, but the way to really build out an elite class is to have lots of depth with top 100-150 type dudes.

Trey Holly has been working his arse off this summer and has put on some good weight. He should have a monster season this year.
