There most definitely is such thing as a silent comit. Sometimes they don't end up coming but neither publicly committed players. Players and coaches all the time pledge a commit or scholarship but want to keep it silent for various reasons. Fans may hate that idea but happens

You also don't realize most of the time if a guy was silent or not. a lot of players that you probably think were public the whole time were silent commits at some point. They don't come out and announce who was a silent commit after they announce

I wish I knew now what I knew when I was seventeen because back then I knew everything. Then life and experience happened.

On his behalf I ask the grownups to cut him slack and have fun with it. He brings back memories of freshman year at LSU. It's glory time for him now as it once was for us.
