RB's switching positions

There's a thread on the Rant about Chavis' Defensive Scheme and someone gave a link where Vol fans were discussing what Chavis did at UT.
Vol Thread
One of the posts reads:
We're all pretty sure LS is going to be a running back except for Lester who thinks he should be a WR. Does anyone think that Blue and/or Ware (and possibly Storm) may become LBers in the future though?

his deal here was to often take former RB's and convert them into LB's. Example, Eric Westmoreland, Eddie Moore, Al Wilson...alll were great Rb's but all made there mark in the SEC as LB's. Incredibly good ones at that. But that's Chavis's forte, the LB position.

Without any thought whatsoever I'd say ware would be a beast at LB

not with the rb talent we bring in. no way. none of these kids are coming to lsu to be a linebacker. well, maybe someone down the depth chart with no serious playing time.

Charles Scott at Mike, Keiland and Murph at SAM and Will respectively, Trindon at DE, Allen at DT, Calhoun at CB and Ford at Safety would just be sick nasty....

That was kind of my thought too.

The next Josh Reed type might be right under Les's nose as we discuss this. And wasn't C. Scott an excellent LB in HS?
Hurry up and get here Sept. 5, that's all I can say............

Ridley? I know I'll get bashed again for suggesting this but it makes sense.

Stevan Ridley was a serious LB prospect coming out of HS. He's definitely hit some guys with authority on special teams and shown good tackling skills. There's no question he could play LB for us. I think Ridley expects to start at RB next year, though, so I don't think there's any way he'd consider switching, but it's interesting to play "what if."

Yes. C Scott played both LB & RB his last two years in HS

I'm pretty sure no current RB on the roster will be flipped to LBer. I was looking at guys like Ware and Blue. Especially since we are looking at LS & Hilliard.

That's why I put Blue in on another thread about last five possible commitments. Blue has the size and speed to play LB some may disagree, but after reading that about Chavis few months back that's what I thought.

Ware will probably be a linebacker

Half the rant swore C. Scott would be a LB at LSU. Too bad the archives don't go back that far...

I remember. Everyone assumed that Keiland Williams would dominate and Scott would have to fight Murphy hard for the backup job. After seeing that he would be 3rd string, Scott would likely switch to LB.
