With Guice having another stellar year I expect a big name to sign

Etienne was not target #2 dummy. he only came in the picture when we missed on akers. it could turn out to be a plus not having Etienne. we'll know next year.

I've been following lsu football since the early 60's and you say I live in a fantasy world? ha.

In my opinion, LSU's last 3 starting RBs will have gone in the 2nd, 1st, and 1st round (yes after the year I expect Guice to have, this guy could be a top 10 pick). With Hill being a 4 year starter being the best rookie one year, near the top of the league in TDs scored by an RB every year, and Fournette having a monster rookie year (again, my opinion), then Guice blowing up going for 2k and getting drafted in the first, how would you not want to jump your happy arse over here?

I expect LSU to pull no less than two top level backs in the 18 class.

I say go after White, Martin, and Franklin. Cast a wide net and try and land 2! If can produce this year like he did last it should attract a few guys with the lack of depth we'll have going into '18.

All of these guys you mentioned are from LA. Our problem has been attracting big time OOS RB's and I'm hoping that's not a problem next year because LA is thin at rb as a whole

I didn't see these names mention but a couple of more good backs for the 2018 class.

1. Keontay Ingram from Carthage,Texas.
2. Troy St. Julien from Vinton, Louisiana.

yep, you right, Etienne should have been offered since the beginning of recruitment along with Akers. I been saying that too. I don't think Akers would have been upset or anything about them recruiting Etienne along with him because you are recruiting and that's how the game works, you offer someone else in case you don't get the guy you want. Problem is they didn't do that and tried to make it look like they wanted Etienne after they knew Akers wasn't coming by giving him an offer right before Akers let everyone know he wasn't going to LSU. Wrong move, the kid was already upset and Clemson gave him the perfect opportunity to let LSU know how upset he was. Lesson learned now and I'm sure they won't make that mistake again.

It's honestly ridiculous that we have coaches that make mistakes like this. Cover all your bases

I dunno, I still think Etienne would be at LSU if it wasnt the national champions who offered. They came into the game later than LSU did, he got caught up in that and found an excuse not to sign with LSU.

All we REALLY need to worry about is Fabian Franklin qualifying.

That's why I said Clemson came along at the right time because it gave him the perfect opportunity to hit back at LSU.

For sure, lesson learned to not do it again. Offer him straight up from the beginning.

Anthony Williams should have been offered, we often wait longer to offer in state kids and we get upset when they go out of state. I favor offering 5 or 6 RB if they fit our system, but we have to get out of the mindset we will offer a LA kid last or as backup that doesn't work well.

AJ Carter RB 2018 6'0 220 4.5

This kid is best pure back in state, he plays for a winning program at Many High School. I've read were they are 51-5 over last 4 years.

He ran for 2,298 yards and 41 TDs was state composite AllState RB.

He constantly plays against teams loading the box and he is a beast. He is able to run thru tackles and by people. He built like a Mack truck.

He has offers from

UCLA
Texas Tech
Kansas
Louisiana Tech
ULL

He has blown up the last month. He has visits lined up to notre dame and Florida state.

Easily best back in state.

I say go after one of the national guys and add an instate back like Carter. I like Anthony Williams and tony st. Julien's junior highlights too. St. Julien just looks like an ath.
