He just turned 17. Not sure what was meant by the only earned touchdown. Pretty sure both were earned. As for his performance, he really didn't do very much most of the night. However, he did have a pretty big sack at a pretty crucial moment. He made a play when his team needed it. Ruston did a good job of running right at him.

All that being said, he is VERY VERY GOOD.

Being that this game was in Monroe at Neville's home field, I doubt if there was a lot of holding without any calls made. We all know how it is when anyone goes into Ouachita Parish for a game. He was doubled every once and a while. Ruston ran the ball at Lawrence repeatedly all night. You would think a 5 star recruit would be more disruptive, but he played average at best. He also seemed winded towards the middle of the 2nd and 4th quarter, having to take quite a bit of time off the field. Ruston's center #58 played very good against Lawrence, a lot people were impressed with the kid because he didn't give an inch to Lawrence and made him work.

Someone said he came up with a huge play, but Ruston's QB gave Neville the ball three times, two times on what appeared to be scoring drives (one fumble and one INT).

I know a lot of people left that game disappointed and I am from neither school.

The kid for Ruston #55, Tahj Samuel, who is only 15 and started at DE was the most impressive kid on defense for both teams. He was tenacious on the attack all night. I don't know the stats, but I know he recorded one sack and at least 10 tackles and he played on special teams. I see him being more of a LB, but he is a good one.

Yeah they ran right at him for a grand total of 72 yards. Neville rotates Dlineman like most colleges so everyone is fresh in the 4th quarter.

Tahj has a bright future for sure. Ruston has very good oline coaches and good size guys that are disciplined, gonna be hard for anyone to shine on that group tbh
