Devall is the linebacker from bastrop that starts or plays a ton on bama's defense this year. Not sure if he starts, I think he does but not sure. Either way you not knowing who he is doesn't speak well to your knowledge of this subject. But to be fair you are crapping on kids who don't want to play for your favorite team so I'm not surprised your not exactly an authority on this subject. If high school kids want to play for LSU that's awesome and a great choice. If they don't, as long as they don't try to embarrass the program most LSU fans won't hold it against them after the intial shock is over.

I started following recruiting for the '14 class so if he is a junior or a senior then the only reason I would know a Bama player is if he is a all American type player.

Im not sure he is crapping on kids. Ive reread this thread and it seems like all of a sudden a couple of yall just decided to freak the frick out on him. I mean, hell, the first 4 posts he had had like 20 upvotes and no downvotes haha.

The other half on the rant are praise for LF, Tolliver, and Key. Two of the three are from out of state. Those dummies should have stayed home because it is dumb to go out of state for any reason. Oh wait. Let me guess, it's a only a Louisiana thing right?

yet south carolina and florida have multiple power 5 schools in the state and many kids tend to leave anyway. Louisiana is just on a completely different level if you consider we are the only power 5 school here, are a power house, and have some of the best players in the country in our back yard. Only Ohio can really be added in that conversation.

The second sentence is not correct at all. Hootie did not spurn LSU, LSU spurned Hootie. Once Ed Paris got Jamal Adams interested in the Tigers, the Tigers were no longer interested in Hootie.

That's not how it went down.

Its not speedy's fault his recruitment was well documented. He seems like a quiet kid and from the stories his mom told he wasn't sure where he was going until the day he announced.

Speedy supposedly told Frank Wilson the night before the Underarmour AA game that he was gonna commit to LSU. 24 hours later, he chose A&M and made the comment that he didn't want to play for "Leonard Fournette Univeristy". If you don't want to go to a school, then don't lead them on and definitely don't call the fricking recruiting coordinator the night before you commit elsewhere and tell him you're coming here.

A guy I used to talk to every once in a while that was close to their recruitment said that Speedy, Willis, and Dobard were all more about themselves than their team and that it would hold them back until they finally grew up and fixed their attitudes. Looks like he knew what he was talking about.

Actually it is. When Hootie was having second thoughts we already had Jamal and he was told he did not have a scholly here.

What nitwit said was correct. The point I was making it that the decision to attend LSU after his decomitment from Bama was not up to Hootie and was not going to happen. If he had wanted to earlier, LSU may have accepted his commitment. Once Jamal came on the scene it was over for Hootie and LSU.

True. But I think there was something else at play (Warning: conspiracy theory type stuff).

If LSU had reached out to him, I think he would have been our "first Womack". My points of why I think (suspect?) that.
A. Hootie had a FA agreement for EE's with LSU signed (before and while committed to Bama).
B. There was nothing from Bama side to make him decommit other than one of his pals talking Ole Miss.
C. The timing of his decommit occurred during no contact or dead period. I might be remembering incorrectly here; if so than this is a bad theory.
D. Hootie kept putting out "feelers" to LSU. Never once initiated contact with LSU himself after decommitting.
E. Kept highlighting (D) in a couple interviews and "word of mouth".
F. Didn't he re-commit to Bama right before dead/NC period ended?

If LSU had taken the bait and then Hootie re-commits (enrolls really) at Bama, it's the same contact violation under the same poorly written rule(s) that LSU got struck with Womack.

Here's what made me come to suspect that. After the violation with Womack, I think it was CFW that said they knew the risk and decided Womack was worth the risk (who waited until dead/NC period to decommit). With Hootie, he wasn't worth the risk because CFW/CLM had confidence in landing Adams.

There's more to it than that. His whole decommitment was orchestrated and suspicious at best. Sure, Jamal made it a non-brainer, but that's not the only reason his offer disappeared.

You think up votes and down votes is a measure of how level headed a post is? Is this the first time you have paid attention to them. And he might not have crapped on the kids but he without a doubt tried to throw shade on any louisiana kid that would dare to pick an out of state school over LSU.

Uh maybe because like 98% of the LSU fans on here, I am biased towards LSU. You seem like the type of guy that if Rashard Lawrence goes to Bama, you will be happy for him and not melt.

True. But despite that does anyone think they have a GOOD READ on which way Lawrence is leaning? Even if that is as indirect as a pattern of body language from interviews.
