Do you think they will both see play time as true freshmen next year?

Depending on how Sam Montgomery comes back, but I could see Rasco getting time.

Freak will definitely

I don't see Rasco getting PT

We don't lose any DEs in rotation..Montgomery comes back and Ego joins the strong side rotation and Maclin probably joins the weak side rotation

I do think someone will be asked to move inside due to Nevis and Levingston leaving ...maybe Ego?

Well considering he does, I think we land him. Our coaches also have the full court press on him. Just trying to figure out how to get the 180K to him

Yeah, Ego will be inside. I think the DT rotation will have Downs, Brockers, Ego, Freak, and possibly even Bennie Logan.

I think Ego is already on the inside. He is about 285, and could gain about 10 pounds before really seeing playing time next year.

agree..but I recall as part of his recruitment he clearly wanted to play SDE and not inside..and I believe Chavis promised him a shot at SDE, at least that was reported

I know things change when they get there, but if Ego sees true frosh Rasco get that shot at SDE I wonder what he'll think about moving down inside as a backup in the DT rotation

We dont know for sure he will be a backup. He came in late and had bad weight due to not being able to work out with the team all summer, and still impressed the coaches. So, theres no garuntee it couldnt be him and Brockers next year on the inside.

I think seeing what big, athletic DTs can do and how much recognition and money they can make will ease his transition to DT.

Will we see any pt from Jordan Allen?

Well maybe he takes some perspective from Bockers. Bockers said he doesn't have the speed so he understands his position with the team.

I think someone said he is moving to the O-line or TE. We have so many athletic freaks on the D-line he just isnt as good as those guys from what we have this year on him.

Our DE situation will look like this next year if we get Rasco:

Speed DEs:
Montgomery
Mingo
Maclin
Rasco

Big DEs:
Aghayere
Allen
Thomas

Combo DEs:
Adams
Edwards

not to be negative, but does anyone see why the coaches love Adams so much? I understand that he's big and athletic..but he's been quiet all year and has flat-out misses QBs when he's had the chance to make plays/sacs

For a JUCO guy who was recently made a DE from a TE, I was excited about him because the coaches were QUICK to make him the starter when he came in...but I just havent seen the hype with him. I think Montgomery, Mingo and Edwards showed this year they are markedly better

In a few years our D-line is gonna be so badass looking when its Freak (number 8) and Ego (number 9) starting on the inside.

Since when did Maclin become a DE? I thought he has been a LB since he came to LSU.
