Question on Jenkins recruiting

I might be wrong here but didnt Austin Thomas take over his duties in recruiting?? I mean trash the best dline coach around just because he isn't recruiting, when the guy who took his place is one of the main reasons this class is still together.

Yes. Lost in all the bashing of Jenkins is that had he actually been on the road instead of Thomas, LSU doesn't get Stevens or Phillips.

From what I understand, Jenkins couldn't recruit externally because he was just a consultant. Now I think he could meet kids on campus but wasn't allowed to make calls or go on the road.

He was, and is, officially a position coach.
