Unsigned thus far. Off the Bench just said that texts to his coach from the Advocate yesterday remain unanswered

Here is a pretty exciting scouting report/breakdown of Kiirs talents.

Mayan Kiir Scouting Report

Exciting stuff, exactly what this roster needs.

Great sign for Coach Wade.

A little surprising that he only averaged 13 points per game. Hopefully he can develop into a solid post player to go along with his defense and rebounding.

His game really does fit what we need perfectly. He's going to fit great with Reath and even Epps who is a stretch 4

If Reath can keep scoring it'll allow Kiir to focus on doing what he does best.

S, do you think Kiir starts alongside Reath next season or do they ease him in off the bench? I feel like Epps will start alongside Reath and they will use Kiir to relieve Reath and Epps.

I would start Reath & Kiir as the big lineup, have Reath & Sims in the small lineup. Epps, Alexander, & hopefully a slimmer Robertson as subs. We're too thin on the post to play anything less than 3 guards all year.

I know this is obvious answer, but IMO it all depends on his development. He fits well next to Duop. He is more of a starter than Epps is. Epps is scorer off bench. If Kiir develops into starting Epps will be more effective scoring off bench

They have to start Robinson If he stays, they have to get what they can get out of him early. That way you don't get into foul trouble the first few minutes of the game, plus If used correctly he can lay 10 to 12 mins a game effectively.

I don't know honestly. I could see either happening. Kiir probably starts at some point. Epps ability to shoot it would be nice off the bench.

I'm so hesitant to make any predictions on line up or usage. With so many variables around how the guys currently on the team are going to react to being coached up for the first time in their collegiate career, we really don't know what some of our guys are capable of.

It's exciting, but it doesn't make for great speculative conversation.

That scouting report describes Kiir as the exact guy we need to address our most glaring weakness - low post presence. His strongest attributes are that he is a "high energy" guy and a "relentless" rebounder":

"Kiir will play right away for LSU and give them the physical, high energy presence they need inside. He and Reath will make a good tandem, as Kiir will allow Reath to play more comfortably as a four man, absorbing much of the dirty work around the basket.

Long term, Kiir has Chieck Diallo-like potential as a lane-to-lane rim-runner who can finish around the basket, snatch up boards, and protect the rim. Some of his offensive skills are already SEC-ready, but he’ll need to refine his shooting stroke.

Critically, though, like Brandon Rachal and Galen Alexander, he brings some edge, physicality, and toughness to his game, the sorts of characteristics of which LSU needs a hefty infusion. In this freshman class, LSU isn’t getting any electric scorers capable of dropping 30 night in, and night out. But they are getting the guys those guys dread being guarded by."

We are almost certain to add another guard as well. I really wouldn't mind addidng a grad transfer post player with the last spot like the guy from north Texas.
