Bingo...I'd be willing to bet anything the 20 current commits don't all sign in the end. Plus, grades always factor in for a few. We may need to sign 6 or 7 players in the end who are not committed at the moment

per Gino,
" The Rod Crayton Report
Yesterday was a very intriguing day when looking at two aspects of the interior linemen, and how LSU will close out their needs for the interior line. When Rod Crayton made it into town with coach Matt Harrison, and 2015 WR Anfernee Jennings, Crayton was ready to demonstrate his ability in a scrutinized setting.
Coach Brick Haley matched up Crayton against Joshua Boutte exclusively. Each rep saw Crayton have his way with Boutte, either with the bull-rush, or coming from the four technique. Crayton showed no ill effects with leg movement as he used perfect hand placement to overcome Boutte.
Prior to these reps, Boutte was handling everyone else he competed against. Crayton was a little nervous at first considering how big Boutte is, but after the first rep, where a swipe-swipe move with the right hand gave Crayton the advantage, Crayton believed he would own the competition thereafter.
Crayton said, "Before we had our first rep, I was thinking man- this man is big." Afterwards coach Matt Harrison told Crayton, "There is no one in the country who can handle your strength Rod!" Quite naturally, coach Harrison is spot on.
Coach Les Miles did get chance to speak with Crayton and did express interest in acquiring Crayton's services.
We do know that Crayton will visit Arkansas, and Florida over the next week, and probably shut down his visits, until football season whe plans to see some games, and make his official visits."
This could get interesting!

Apparently Pagano is enjoying "playing the game"
Can't post the whole thing bc it's premium from ESPN

"They're back to No. 1 again but they're the first team I got to see and go visit and they have me hooked pretty good,". "We shall see what the rest of the schools have to offer this week and after that I'll break it down and have my decision in August."
quote:
"(LSU) exceeded my expectations," Pagano said. "I didn't expect it to be like this. It was great and a good opportunity for me to see what it's like. Right now I like LSU, but Bama's starting to creep up. We'll see what happens Tuesday and see how it is and how we like it."

Based on the current smoke, I'll say
Dodd
Robinson
Beckwith
Gilmore
Skinner?
Dodd seems like a legit done deal, and Skinner is getting a lot of sudden buzz, despite the fact that we have two TEs.
I have a strong feeling that some of our higher targets are going to miss the boat by waiting. I just hope we don't have an "incident" where someone is pissed about a greyshirt.

Two pretty unlikelies with Crayton and RSJ. Also, theres no DBs in that group. Would still think that we get at least one of Willis/Robinson/Goodman.

It could just as easily be him on that list. Its really hard to know just who is a take and who isn't. Then you also have the Prevot, Willis, Goodman, RSJ wildcards.
Who really knows at this point. I think the number of seriously interested "takes" > the number of spots.

I'll be a bit bothered if Robinson is not in this class. I don't know what more you can want from the guy. He comes here, runs a sub 4.4, blankets guys all camp and shows attitude and heart in the process. Not to mention he is 6'2.
I know the westcoast DBs are good but Robinson has shown the ability and desperately wants to be here.

If he committed, I'd take him.

Robinson is committing on the 23rd when he and his pops come back to br...i think he wants his dad to come see the campus, talk to the coaches, etc
Posted on 7/17/12 at 7:10 pm to redfieldk717
I heard he was going to do it at camp.
Posted on 7/17/12 at 7:10 pm to redfieldk717
I get that feeling too, Red.
Posted on 7/17/12 at 7:17 pm to redfieldk717
It wouldn't make much sense to come way from Miami and make a return trip the next week if he wasn't committing IMO

Has it ever been like this? Meaning not many spots left and a lot of high profile guys still on our list?

Not that I remember. We've run into a room issue before but not with this number of seriously interested high caliber players still on the board.
