Also very interesting quote on Fulton and Christmas-Giles

quote:

“I just got a chance to get to know all of the coaches better, and I already know them very, very well,” Pettigrew said. “I was hanging out D’Andre, Fulton, Da’Monte Coxie, hanging out with those guys, who are going to be my future teammates. It was just a great experience and I can’t wait to get up there to LSU.”

Article on Christmas-Giles

quote:

Last week, five-star prospect Rashard Lawrence committed to LSU, which pushed the total number of defensive tackles in the Tigers’ 2016 class to three. Christmas-Giles said that wouldn’t impact his decision. “It’s a pretty good defensive line,” he said of LSU’s future rotation, “but I’m not sure if that shakes up anything for me. It doesn’t matter.”

That is awesome. He's a guy that can step on the field early if needed. He's not one of those receiving TEs that needs to learn to block. He's probably the most well-rounded TE we've signed recently.

To me he's a luxury if we have room. But not a necessity. I'd like to get him though.

Pettigrew is a big athletic kid, 6'6" tall I believe, and we really could use a good all around tight end that can block and catch.

The most important thing is that we need to use the tight end with functional routes designed to get them open, which we hopefully start doing next year.

As the four-star tight end put it, it was always LSU.

“The official visit went very, very well,” Pettigrew told SEC Country. “I got up there with my brother D’Andre Christmas-Giles, explored the campus and got to have some fun with all of the guys, including Kristian Fulton. We had a good team.

“It definitely shored things up for me. I’m going to LSU for sure now.”

I like this tasty nugget.

quote:

Instead of making visits, the St. Augustine High School (New Orleans) product plans to be a source of guidance for his teammates and friends, like Christmas-Giles and Fulton, as they look to make their looming college decisions on National Signing Day.

And this

Same. I think Texas is pretty confident, and I'd be happy to see him go there instead of Aggie.

It pays two dividends. One it would add depth to the Dline where you can never have enough numbers like Oline and QB's. High impact, hard to project positions.

Two: It depends on who his leader or other leader is. If it is an SECW school like Ole Miss, it keeps him from being utilized as a weapon from a rivals arsenal.

i like that DCG doesnt care about the competition. he's got "chest" and I like that. Idk how Aranda's 3-4 works but I wonder how much rotation we will get out of the dline.
