I made acquaintance with guy I frequently worked with last summer whose uncle is (or was) an Associate AD at a school with a traditional prestigious football program. He said it is almost custom that for a recruit like, let's say like Adrian Peterson was, the bidding ceiling is $50k. I guess that is where risk/benefit really starts to weigh, I don't know. But, he told me a recruiting story about a specific recruit of that caliber that his uncle's school got a commitment from. He was told that $50K ended up being what it cost to get him, but that something that high was only for a player of that caliber.
So if I am clear, AZ is unhappy because we might get a commitment where one of the reasons he may choose us is his brother being an employee. While AZ was perfectly happy with his commitment to them where the ONLY reason was his brother being an employee. Not even a little bit hypocritical
