Per rivals, Herron raised his stock the most at Army AA game.

White is listed as honorable mention for "Lightning in a bottle" based off of his returns. Also mentioned under honorable mention for "Snuggie" (coverage).

Desean Smith got honorable mention for "Stick em" (best hands). Said he dropped one pass the entire week of practice. Too bad the QBs couldn't get him the ball during the game.

I think both White and Herron may get that 5th star.

Herron would have to make a hell of a jump for that 5th star. Would be cool though.

I knew Herron was going to be a stud, but I initially thought it would be at DE. I'm now on the Herron at DT train. This D-Line has me fired up

He did very well at practice all week, was bigger and more athletic than they thought, and had 2 sacks in the game. If he can't get the 5th star with that production they simply dont want to give it to him.

They estimated him at 6'5 260 lbs.

Herron was surely one of the standout players for the East squad, but it bothers me how much they overlooked White just because he wasn't tested as much as some of the other corners; in fact, the reason he wasn't tested as much is because the QBs saw no window to throw the ball.

Frank Herron, Memphis (Tenn.) Central

This goes to the player who raised his stock the most, and Herron is that guy. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 236 pounds coming in, Herron looked every bit of 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds and moved like a smaller prospect. He's raw, but his athleticism and physical ability will allow him to make a big jump.

Just for clarity.... he made at least one of his sacks as a DE on a loop stunt with the DT. He split two OL with his speed. Gonna be a player no matter where he plays.

I think both will be between 25-40 when the rankings come out. Possible 5 stars. They mentioned Vanderdoes as in the discussion for 5 stars, and he was only honorbale mention for the guy who raised his stock the most. If vanderdoes is being considered for 5 then Herron has to be in the discussion as well. Smith and Boutte should both get a bump. Pocic is gonna drop, wouldnt suprise me if drops out the top 100. Rettig may drop a little too.

I agree. It just depends on how many 5* they are willing to dish out this year. Some years, it's been as many as 30, while other years, it's been less than 25.

Vanderdoes was certainly impressive; I don't know if any signing class has had more than six 5* in it. USC this year could be that class.

To 5*? or another "Rivals Rating" point (i.e. 5.8 to 5.9, etc.)? Because they almost never give out the 5th star to TEs (except for O.J. Howard) and OGs.

Yeah, unfortunately, I can see both of these happening. It sucks for Pocic, especially; who only participated in the UA event to compete with the best, and help LSU with some recruiting himself, and got sick the week of.

they will not be 5 stars. Just a rise in their overrall rank and maybe to 6.0s, or Smith to 6.0 and Boutte back into the rivals 100 but may stay at 5.9. Boutte is at 104 now and was described as dominant during some practice reports.

I read Pocic got thrown to the ground by Nkemdiche and I know they will drop guys to offset all the bumps they may give us. Just how they work. They will use any excuse possible to drop a guy since so many of our guys should get bumps.

Diarse could rise up the WR rankings as well. They dropped him big time the last rankings all the way to 29. He was a top 5 WR at one point, I dont think he'll get in the rivals 100 though.

I figured that's what you meant.

I HATE the fact that it works that way, but whatever. In the end, rankings are just for show; although it is nice to have a lot of star power for the star gazers out there to awe over.

I sure hope so. Kid had a huge senior season and is the consummate team player.

It is good to hear this but even if they don't get the bump, I am happy just to have them in the class. They will have significant roles in the near future at LSU. Prior to the game, I didn't even know White had that kind of return ability.

I think Ethan was sick with a virus so... I bet that has something to do with it. I could see him dropping to maybe 80ish

He had the flu. I'm pretty sure they know he was sick. Pretty messed up if they drop him knowing that. Could happen, but I doubt it

They will and they'll find an excuse to keep White/Herron out of 5* status. Only one will get it if we're lucky and it's most likely White since he's almost a 5* anyway. I'm not sure how you can justify him anything but a 5*. Every camp/circuit he has been to, he shut them down. The CBs ahead of him right now actually haven't looked quite as impressive...

Speaking of all these bumps, when do they update the rankings?
