problem is the people who demand perfection don't have a clue how to achieve it and simply refuse to give credit to the other guy.

We all know the guy who goes off on Les every time football is discussed at a gathering. That guy is replicated in every town in the region 100x over. That guy is hurting our ability to keep in-state talent. That guy is helping knock down the fence.

the fricking truth. the continuous and pathetic staff and player bashing by many of the "worlds' best fans" does as much, or more, harm to LSU than anything our competitors and conference can devise. it's like a cancer...it destroys from within. good post.

I think you are overlooking the influence of adult advisors on the decisions of the recruits. Recruits are literally bombarded with propaganda about the wonders of the various schools, football programs, coaching staffs and communities by all recruiting them. They rely on adults to assist them filter through the barrage of information. The quality of advice they receive will vary, and the biases of the advisors will come into play.

There have been transitions in the people who fill the advisor roles at several Louisiana high schools in the recent past. Some who were very favorable toward LSU have been replaced by people less favorable to LSU. In that regard, LSU has lost an edge that it once had that has nothing to do with the effort put forth by the LSU coaching staff with the prospects. LSU's coaching staff has to recruit the advisors to gain their favor. And that probably requires more time than a single recruiting year.

It sure seems like we lose kids when Mom loves us in state, but lose kids out of state because Mom wants him close to home.
I'm sure it's like this everywhere, though...

I was in N.O. the other day and they were bashing LSU and coach miles but it seems like they just want and really think LSU could do better? I think they could also, yes they have done great things but it could and should be on a level with bama. LSU gets a hard time from many areas like officials in a game seem to catch every mistake LSU makes but misses many of the opposite teams mistakes or penalties. I watched the A&M game again and they missed many PI calls on the best WR in the nation. Usually the best players get the benefit of the doubt but not with LSU. We don't get many missed calls or luck going our way.

It's real simple LSU needs to start kicking Bama's arse again.
