OT, but recruiting related: After tomorrow, we can laugh about going "2-for-5".

Remember the epic melt? Well now, our two are about to be two top 5 picks. And Speedy, Gerald and Tony are nowhere to be found. Payback is a bitch, ain't it?

It is odd how things just haven't worked out well for many defectors. I can only name a couple like Landon Collins and Tim Williams who have been pretty successful.
ETA: Of course Cam Robinson.

You do realize this would not be the first time this has happened right? 3 of the first 4 picks in the 2010 draft were from Oklahoma

WWL Tv is knighting hard for Speedy. It's kinda sad.

Was just thinking about this earlier today. It's pretty incredible that we went from a melt of that caliber to what has played out three and a half years later..

I don't think you quite understand what this post is about.

I really can't figure out the reason for this post in this thread. The context of the above post has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter.
Either your a downer Negatiger from the Rant or you haven't followed long enough to know what "2-for-5" means to LSU recruitniks. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and go with the latter.

Crazy how much better Adams' career turned out compared to Hootie's

Adams was. Hootie wasn't.

yes I know Adams wasn't part of the 5
Remember how he was the "consolation prize" for losing Hootie, until rational people starting saying, "This kid is better on paper, a natural safety, while Hootie is a tweener."
Net gain even at the time. And the reality of the 2 players was night and day. Adams will be the first safety taken in the top 10 since Mark Barron in 2012. If he goes top 5, then he'll be the first since Eric Berry in 2010 (the trivia point will be both players recruited and coached by John Chavis).

Yeah, this is right. Disregard what I said before.

Im quite possibly wrong, obviously, but wasn't Adams and Willis torn between us and uf?
Hootie committed to bama much earlier and tried playing the kiffin shuffle but Adams got his spot.
What am I misremembering?

Dupre committed on NSD, not during the UA game. the last player yall are missing is tony brown. His sister, Bealoved, was already enrolled and running track at lsu. we pulled a lot of strings to get her qualified. their dad dreamed of the 2 going to school together. was frequently quoted as saying such. even said he'd buy them a purple car. bama got on tony really hard in the final week leading up to the UA game. thanks to saban and the REC, their father's medical bills from his major stroke disappeared and tony committed to bama during the broadcast. sister was on stage with him. sister was asked about her enrollment at lsu and tony's decision. she responded, "I guess im gonna have to say 'roll tide' ". dirty work and sneaky pull by those bastards. kid was essentially an lsu commit since the 8th grade.

Fournette, brown, Willis, noil, and Adams were the 5

This is wrong. Hootie committed to Alabama during the fall and Dupre was a NSD commitment (or close to it). Tony Brown and Jamal Adams are the other two.
