Man...USC has had some nasty nasty classes in recent years. No way this class will beat some of those..
But with Randle and maybe one nice surprise, it will be one of the top classes I can remember...certainly the top class ever at LSU.

it would have taken all of the optimistic commits to put us in GOAT class, and they didn't come, and we replaced them with some so-so regarded players

I have to agree with this. When did Les say this? I think he was thinking LSU would obviously keep Pratt, Debose was a silent commit for quite sometime, and I think signs were pointing to Campbell coming to LSU. This class is not one of the best ever. USC has more players from the rivals top 100 than we do....and if they were to sign as many players as we do this year, we wouldnt even be #1 this year.

would be a strong enough finish to make it, arguably, the greatest all time.
You would have to be a real positiger to believe that, though.

Exactly. LSU will not sign Richardson or Fluker or Debose.
But, LSU is still in it for Jarvis Jones and Sam Montgomery....how much? We will have to see. If LSU picks up both of those guys, it will be huge. But pick ups like Johns, Logan, Singleton, and Tahj Jones...eh...not that they are not solid players, but LSU needs to finish stronger than that to be "one of the greatest ever"

we are likely to close with arguably the #1 player in the country if we land Randle - which would add to what is already the #1 class by most accounts (not to mention Sam Montgomery and other possibles that still exist)

we lost him to his home school that is 1 1/2 hours away from his house... the same school that just won its 2nd National Title in 3 years... the same school that has the best offensive style for his skills and has shown him that through its utilization of Harvin, who will be a 1st Round pick
