Not in the article, but on twitter his mom has been called out over sending threatening messages to people talking about the incident. Screenshots.

Also, they asked the kid if his peanut allergy could kill him and he said “yes absolutely it could”. Then, they stuffed a bunch of peanuts in his jersey inside his locker.

ETA: This kid was so concerned over his bullies that he had recorded that conversation.

District ruled this wasn’t bullying. Bro, that’s aggravated assault. Whole situation is dark enough I wouldn’t offer anyone from Lake Travis — but this kid & his parents are right in the middle of all this.

I’m not say anything, I don’t want a letter from Shane’s attorney. If she does to decide to text me she better send some pics. I wonder if she has a nut allergy?

if she does & you wanna mail them an envelope of peanuts — school district has established that’s perfectly okay.

Sounds like a lot of...less rich kids might have gotten in serious legal trouble over that.

Sometimes they are just punk kids.

Sometimes kids frick up and learn their lesson. Hopefully he is that.

I get it, I’m not trying to be judge/jury/executioner & I’m not saying throw them in jail for life.

But a slap on the wrist is despicable. Enabling really. The victim is facing severe backlash (source: the irate mother), and this was never set right so no lessons learned.

Kids do dumb shite, but if true, this is both a violent indictment of character & poor judgement. Giving a kid like this the benefit of the doubt is the entire reason you see so much criminal behavior from athletes.

Some adult at some point here has got to have a shred of integrity, and we need to draw a line somewhere. Absolutely the truth that If he’s poor and/or bad at football, he doesn’t skate out of this.

Yea I have a hard time excusing this. That is psychotic behavior. They might as well have rigged a gun to fire at the kid when he opened his locker.

I'm not one to believe kids who frick up can't mature into better people. Maybe you can chalk it up to a dumbass kid pulling a prank without thought to the seriousness of the consequences.

But he knowingly did something to his own teammate that could have killed him. Think I'd pass on this one.

The cause of this is clearly pampered kids who have never faced any consequence for anything, believing they could get away with anything.

Lo and behold, suspended for an exhibition game & has ten D1 offers.

Getting kicked off the team should’ve been the least of his problems. He should be facing legal charges.

Frick this kid. He’s not aligned. He deserves a good old fashioned butt kicking.

Bold to use the "libelous and defamatory" line, as truth is an absolute defense to these claims/causes of action.

The fact that the person allegedly libeled or defamed is a minor doesn't change that. Being a minor is not some magic shield to thwart the truth as a defense.

There are probably minor privacy laws she should be relying on. I'm not a TX attorney so I'm not sure what they have, but typically states have some sort of laws on this.
