A little bit of both. It was dumb to offer him now but Tua should have been offered months ago

I'm sure O didn't expect Brennan to act like a diva about it.

I don't think anyone is going to defend that whole sequence of events. We had virtually zero chance of flipping Tua. Meanwhile, we have a QB committed to us who a) loved LSU, and b) was deeply committed to us - probably because of our commitment to him before he turned heads and added the extra star. Whether O plans to feature a spread QB or a pocket passer, we're not in a position where we can be selective. LSU needs a quarterback who can run an offense. Spread, wishbone, pro style - who gives a shite. We need production at that position. Alienating Brennan was a bad move.

I think the late offer had to do with what he said a while back about LSU not making more offers until a HC was hired.

Obviously you have never been in a position where 20 college teams are calling for your commitment and you basically ignore them because you given your word and commitment to another school. It's called integrity. Now he was told that the coaching staff is looking to hedge their bets and formulate a back up plan that may or may not include Brennan or Narcisse. So he decided to do the same thing, formulate a back up plan. I think that's pretty mature of him and a far cry from being a DIVA but you would have to grasp the concept of integrity, loyalty and being a man of your word to fully agree with that novel concept.

O Screwed Up Vs. Did His Job Offering Tua Thread

It is the way he handled it, so he screwed up!

It isn't that he offered Tua it is when you have two highly rated players at the position already committed what were you trying to accomplish especially considering we don't even have an OC in place to explain what our offense is going to be like. If it was trying to bring in another talented QB into the fold, you failed miserably. If it was to give notice to Myles Brennan that he isn't what we are looking for at LSU, he definitely accomplished that!

Hopefully we will see a master plan behind this, but at this moment in time I have no clue what that is!!!

STFU!!!

This kid as bled purple & gold for us and he isn't even at LSU "yet hopefully." Coach Oeaux did this kid wrong after how he was loyal to LSU in the midst of a cluster frick this year with our coaches, and Brennan let you know that when he thank Myles and Cameron and not Oeaux.

Look if Oeaux doesn't want Brennan, that is up to him he is the HC and I am pretty sure at the end of the day he tenure at LSU will be decided with how the QB plays. But he could have handled it a lot better, talk to the kid and his family don't throw an atom bomb in their household and then duck and hide and see what the fallout looks like!!! He went with Craig and Raymond to Lowell house the next day and all he did was call Myles on the phone!!!

Pretty shitty display from our resident coonass!!!! Honestly, him being a coonass, I expect more from him than that!

Wasn't the fact he offered, it's the fact he didn't let his other 2 QB's know what was going on.
They need to feel respected and secure in the choice that will occupy the next several years of their lives.

I thought Tua was a contingency plan for Narcisse because he's been the one to visit other schools?

IMO, the worst part of this whole fiasco is that the only reason Coach O offered Tua was because of Lane Kiffin potentially becoming our OC.

However, this backfired since we have no Tua, definitely no Kiffing, and now possibly No Brennan who has been 100% committed to LSU from the get go.

Well if you think about it wasn't a terrible offer considering Bamas current QB is a true freshman and is about to win a NC. i Guess Taggart is fricking up cause he's flying to Hawaii right now for Tua...... No OC, NC winning Frosh QB......not a bad chance at a flip at all when looking at it like that

I find it odd a kid would want to go where he's likely to sit for 3 years.

Screwed up as of right now. He knows how bad we need guys that can throw a pass accurately and not just run as in years past. You put your top QB recruit on notice through the media that you are not going to run the offense you originally stated, and are looking for a DT QB when he is more pro style. You proceed to offer the top DT QB only to find out that he has zero interest. Even if he did want to change the system, the media was not the place to make that announcement without talking to your top rated QB. Now it looks like Kiffin won't even make it here as he is a serious candidate for HC at Houston. It appears to be a screw up right now.

I think is you somehow 'merged' these 3 answers that's about as good as an answer one can get.
