Jabril Cox 6’3 233 lb thought of to be one of if not the very best defensive FCS prospect for the 2021 NFL Draft has entered the transfer portal. Was a 2x FCS all American, was one of 4 finalist for the Buck Buchanan award which is awarded to the best defensive player in FCS. Is recognized as the best LB in FCS. Known for his versatility as a tackler, rusher, and coverage LB.
Career Stats
258 tackles
32 Tackles for loss
14 Sacks
5 INT (2 return for TD’s)
18 QB hurries
12 PBU
4 fumble recoveries
NDSU Player Bio and accomplishments: LINK
Link to Tweet about transfer: LINK
Highlights: LINK guy is a heat seeking missile
2 of his most recent followers on twitter? Ed Orgeron and Bo Pelini
Would be a massive addition at a position of need.

He has a ton of film out there that doesn’t really reflect his stats but he looks great in coverage and he does look athletic for his size though.
They have a SS that really sticks out in all of the film I’ve watched so far, #25.

Think he is wanting to follow his former coach? Either way, we have room, bring it

Bring him in we lost a lot at LB to the draft....

Very very good in coverage
Would probably play weak side linebacker

We definitely need a veteran presence at LB. Would be worth a scholly.

He's got to be one of the most intriguing prospects I've seen in a while.
Was a 2* recruit, not even ranked by 247. Had a 247 composite rank of 3,246
247 Recruiting Profile
His main position in HS was QB where he ran the ball a lot. Played all over place on defense as well.
To go from the pretty good/good athlete he was in high school where he shows flashes here and there...

To the quick-twitch, explosive athlete he is now WITH 23LBS OF MORE MUSCLE! (all muscle) It's incredible.
You know the guy has worked his arse off to get to where he is.
He's still very much a developing prospect as it pertains to the LB position. Upside is through the roof.
Would be an instant impact player on 3rd downs as a pass rusher who can also drop back in to coverage if needed.
He's an elite cover guy as a LB. He's so good, NDSU has him split out covering the slot about 60-70% of the time.
What I'd like to see from him is more aggressiveness in sticking his nose in there to make tackles. I believe this comes from still learning the position.
The more comfortable he gets with the position, the faster and more aggressive he'll play.

How is this dude supposedly one of the best fcs defensive players and never make first team all American?

Just saw this on youtube. Said LSU and Texas, among others, are already on him.

How many years does he have left to play?

NDSU has a dominance problem, even someone as good as Jabril can't generate the stats or stand out enough to win the big awards.

I believe he has one year of eligibility left. He redshirted in 2016 and played in 17,18 and 19.
