We made Pville's best player quit after our game last year. Dude was a stud, but had absolutely no help. I think he's going to St Amant now. He should be B team now though.

Ill be with the B team this year. Our C team is going to be very young.. not a whole lot staying back. You need to make that drive man! We do it right over here.

You talking about the qb or the rb? Ones tall and fast ones build like a bowling ball and like to knock people out

#23 RB.. I think we won like 42-7

Helluva RB.. But didn't get much help. Our starting D only gave up 6 points in the regular season last year. We had some good kids.

He left to come play at the school with my son. Little small school beating teams like riverside the fast kid at qb went to St amant no idea where the rb is playing next year but I know the school is trying to fast track him. Momma don't wanna hear that though but he can hang I've seen it myself.

He can come play with us! Bring your kid too.

We scrimmaged scotlandvilles team last year before the season. Their kids were like twice our kids size, but couldn't get a snap off. We were shutting that shite down. I'm going recruiting this year. I'd do anything to have a few of those kids.

Friends close, enemies closer get your fast kids into the local track scene and your linemen. Have linemen do throwing events and see how fast your kids really are. Once people know you the doors will open. You're welcome.

Ok, this thread is awesome. I do have a question for you guys since we're talking lil man football. My son is somewhat interested in getting started soon, he likes the fullback and QB position from watching the college game with me. Does position really matter at this age? How old should he be when starting, he's mid 7 now, 1st grader. He's been involved in soccer fall and spring since he turned 4 and has been in Gracie jujitsu since 5 and loves both. Does he have time to do soccer and football? Too much strain?
I ask you guys cause I really don't care a whole lot for responses I may get on other boards, this is the one I prefer all day everyday

It all depends on the coaches you get. Most of our kids have been playing since 5 years old. Never had a head injury or anything with any of our kids.. And we hit. If you don't tackle correctly.. You don't play.

Our organization is pretty competitive and demanding. We practice 3 times a week and play on Saturdays.

And it doesn't matter where he wants to play.. The coaches should evaluate him, and put him in the best position for the team. Unless they have some daddy ball going on.. In that case, you're screwed.

Thanks. Good to hear about no head issues, that's actually my biggest concern, and his own maturity to handle if he hurts someone, they tap in jujitsu lol. The coaching is also a huge concern, maybe I'll just find time that doesn't exist lol. He's big, no fat, but big, top percentile since birth (4'8.5" and 78lbs) so Ive never really been concerned about him getting hurt I just want him to have fun in what he wants to do.
You guys really sound like y'all have it going and are having fun with it in a safe way. That's a blessing

Thanks man, and good luck. We had 6- 8 year olds last year that were over 110 pounds. One kid couldn't make our 118 pound weight limit, and had to play up.

That's some seriously huge kids lol.
Maybe we'll have some that size at my son's school, Cedar Creek, soon. Andrew Whitworth, Kyle Williams and Patrick Ramsey all have several young kids there, Doug Williams did as well a few years ago

Don't sweat the position, just make sure he's in a place teaching good fundamentals. You have got to scout the teams before you register. Attend a practice or two. Look at the kids out there. Are they working hard? Are they having fun? Sign him up then.

Absolutely agree with Ed - make sure the tackle techniques being taught ensure the head is out of the tackle. Definitely do what you can to learn the coaching side too - don't have to coach but understanding the coach's perspective helps you and the coach. Kind of how I got started coaching youth - learn all you can about the game and share it with the kids

Thanks guys. I'll take BigEds advice and watch a few practices 1st, with my son and go from there. I haven't coached football in 13 years (I started as a high school DC and then a middle school DC) needed a football break starting a family and haven't been back. I may just have to find time, maybe be an assistant or something. I'm kinda starting to think I'm gonna wind up coaching just about every sport since now I have a daughter lol
