many of our fans are somewhat disappointed on the final outcome of the class, myself included. I have taken the time to list what I think are it's negatives and it's positives....

NEGATIVES
-we lost some of the states top players
-saban is still raiding the state successfully
-Gay and Wilson were huge misses
-we only signed 23 and we miffed a lot on tues.

POSITIVES

-we covered our losses by OOS players
-we signed 12 OOS guys, most with 4 or 5 stars
-we signed 7 of the country's top 100
-the class is smaller but higher quality
-we met our needs (except power back)

overall, a class rated seventh in the country is damn good, esp when it met the teams needs. there is a trend nationally for kids to go out of state. hell, saban signed 6 guys from florida. 8 of the top 10 rated guys in texas signed with out of state schools (we got 2). it seems today's recruits are more willing to leave their home state for various reasons; social media shrinks the geography, many recruits families are better off than previous generations and can travel to see them play and more kids want to leave home than ever before.

considering all factors I think coach O did a hell of a job, esp out of state. it seems he had backups for the in state guys wavering. we have to face reality. it is damn important for the LSU brand to attract kids outside of the state and winning football games is the way to do it.

coach o is making changes and maybe Tuesdays results are the reason why. damn it, I hope Canada is the real deal because next year we are going to need some guys on offense real bad.

The beauty of next year is we have horses in the stables already that haven't even had a real chance to run yet.

Drake Davis, Derick Dillon, Stephen Sullivan, Jacory Washington and Jamal Pettigrew are all candidates to have a breakout year next year.

I agree with your assessment. I'm glad we did not offer these kids that were borderline takes. Appears the coaches worked tirelessly and I would rather fill the class up next year after the new staff has a full year to evaluate what players we do have, our strengths and weaknesses, identify the prospects that fit what we want, and develop relationships with the new targets, their parents and decision makers, and their coaches.

This is not stated nearly enough. The country is smaller and people are much more willing to move than before. Now people don't even consider it distance unless it 2 states over. Before I joined the military I can count 2 hands how many times I left Terrebonne parish

Jacory Washington

Gonna predict a BOOM season for JW. Canada loves tight ends that can run routes and actually catch the ball. Washington has better hands than most receivers.

I live in Tennessee now and there is some melting here in the state over LSU getting two of their top four guys! I will also say that Nashville is becoming a hot bed for prospects and LSU has footprint here. Geaux tigers!

Canada is the real deal, he helped beat a Clemson team that just beat Bama with 2* talent. Clemson didn't exactly have an off game either they just simply out coached them and executed with efficiency. Clemson didn't see the fight coming but it was still impressive. He's an offensive mastermind with a great feel for the game. He's basically the Aranda for offense, with April as our ST guy I really believe LSU has one of if not the best staff in college football. Who knows who we will replace WRs and RBs with but I'm sure it will be up and comers but proven winners, the players will soon forget this day. I'm sure they will love the next two coaches. Let's do this, it's time LSU sets trends again, we should be on top, the first to try something or think outside the box. It's time we start dominating again everywhere. Here's to a great season and home run hires. HTT
