Interviewer guy: did you see his mother's reaction?

Les: "I did see TV."

Les knows he can't comment on a recruit, but the way he talks around most issues, it would be hard to ever pin him down on a recruiting violation.

So I watched CST interview LC and ask him Questions about his mom's reaction and why he wants to leave La.

He says he knew his mom would react that way because she always speaks her mind.

And when asked why he's leaving he said 'why am I leaving (brief hesitation), well I want to get out of La. , try someplace new, AL feels like home.'

He lied to both parents before he made the announcement. Not saying she handled it correctly, but doesn't anyone think that's pretty disrespectful? She wasn't going to even make the trip if he was picking bama but he lied so she would be there. If she didn't support his decision, he should have told her not to worry about coming all the way to florida to be embarrassed by it. His dad didn't even go on stage. What does that tell you? All she did was speak her mind, which Landon knew she would do. That kid was targeted by bama since he was 14 or 15 years old, and this is the result. You want to prevent this from happening again? Get to the parents earlier and tell them to stop sending kids to Tuscaloosa when they're 15 or 16 yrs old. Landon committed 2 yrs ago, so Nick is obviously using the camps to negative recruit LSU before we even get in the race. Recruiting is always such a dirty game when the alabama schools are involved. That entire state is pure trash.

I agree. Everyone is going off on the mom, but most with any understanding of the situation said that his mother didn't want to come because she disagreed with his decision.

Why is it assumed that she is just an LSU fan? She's his mother and can voice her opinion. If he lied to his mom just to make her come out there, than he's a disrespectful kid with not appreciation for his mom bringing him into this world.

I'd agree with her that I'd want my kid around LSU's program and Les Miles than Saban and Bama's. I'd be vocal about it, and the kid is running away. If he really wanted to leave Louisiana than say so. Nobody is going to hate you for that, but to say you want to get away from LA by going to freaking Bama is just stupid. Bama is a much worse place to live, I am sorry. Not one person outside of a Bama homer will say differently.

Kid should've just been honest with LSU and told them they had no chance.

Great interview. Love Les playing cat and mouse with regards to the Landon question. "A temporary thought will not stop us from being attentive to a quality kid who grew up in New Orleans"... translation...It's FAR from over!

I think Pops already new thats why he was a now show and Moms was there becouse she wanted to speak her peace.(Good Job Mom) Collins needs to leave now and dont come back he is TRAITOR to his own state looks like he will miss out on thatring next year. He lead everybody on and made us look like fools. The fight will be next year when we smash them at home in DEATH VALLEY.

Collins said he's been all Bama for 2 years.

Miles called it a temporary thought.

That's a pretty good example of Miles' mentality and what makes him and his teams successful.
