There’s no guarantee the UT guys will be eligible to play this year being from another SEC school. The existing rules do not allow that. Jones or the guy from USC would, assuming the NCAA gets off its arse and finally passes the permanent one-time waiver rules.

because we lost our best LB in Jabril Cox, baskerville was just serviceable and clark is not SEC caliber. If we get 1 or 2 plug and play bigtime players at the LB position we could be a title contending team.

No, Jones is an outside LB, sideline to sideline/cover guy. The Tennessee guys To’o To’o and Crouch are inside backers.

I doubt we would take both, if that’s what you are asking. If there’s a chance he couldn’t play this year going to another SEC team, then why would he consider it? That means waiting around for the NCAA to figure their shite out and then the SEC to decide if they want to allow waivers in-conference or not. Spots will be filling up elsewhere during that time.

If the UT guys have good spots lined up elsewhere, they aren’t going to wait. Neither should we. If we can get a starter for a top P5 program who’s a virtual lock to play next season, why pass on that?

Clemson OLB Mike Jones

4th highest graded LB in Power 5 this past season by PFF

Had the top coverage grade in all of college football for any defensive player in mid November and was so good was even mistaken as a DB

Was also graded out as one of the best safeties in power 5. Again he’s an OLB

Awesome if true but what’s the actual story behind the transfer? He was starting for a national champion runner up. Just not sure why someone would choose to roll on out of what seems like a great situation. Glad to have him either way, geaux tigas!!!!!
