It seems that LSU has allready added 3 very good defensive linemen in this class

The guys we have committed are OLB/DE hybrids and will most likely be OLBs. Just letting you know.

We have one defensive lineman committed, and thats Torshiro Davis. We will probably take maybe 2 to 3 more DEs and 2 to 3 DTs and call it a day on the D-line

James McFarland could be a heckuva OLB to replace Torshiro Davis if he stays at DE.

That may be true, but guys like Lorenzo Phillips, Otha Peters, Deion Jones, Lamar Louis, and Ronnie Feist would be just fine

McFarland is more likely to be a DT than an OLB

His build and the way he moves and uses his hands. He could put on a ton of weight in a hurry, like 30-40 pounds in 2 years, and will be a SDE

"Things opened back up" may not be saying he is renouncing his decision to play for TCU, but it surely negates any sense of "commitment" in the true sense of the word.

Which is exactly the role McFarland played last year for WM. Him and Lathan on the outsides with their ears pinned back. He's a lot like Mingo, but thicker. He could play DT, DE, or OLB in a 3-4 with his frame.
