Well you must not like your family too much!

Seriously though.....OU fans are just as arrogant. Many fanbases around the country are more arrogant. Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Michigan all come to mind...Miami, too.

Texas fans have a sense of entitlement to their in-state recruits much in the same way that LSU fans have about Louisiana prospects. They feel about LSU the same way we feel about Bama, Florida, Tennessee, etc. coming into "our" turf to steal "our" players.

Granted, Texas A&M is no La Tech....they are obviously much better. But Texas is the flagship school of the state, and that is where the sense of entitlement to players comes from. LSU fans have the EXACT same thing only there is less competition for the players.

Kettle, meet pot.

IMO, your off base on this one... UT people seem to think they are all rocket scientists and they barely recognize LSU as an academic institution, they almost always cut down LSU for this.

Also, they automatically assume that every kid in Texas absolutely LOVES UT, I'm positive that I don't take any in-state kids for granted like Texas fans do. Right now they think Lache Seastrunk is bleeding burnt orange.....no lie at all.

Also, the "Hook em horns" after damn near every sentence they write or speak about UT is pretty damn annoying.

I don't think that Mack Brown scares a lot of his in state guys anyway. He losses the top prospects once in a while but seems to do ok for himself in February....just not come October

I have seen Lache bleed and it is purple & gold. I even told him when he was just a little kid that it means he was born to be a tiger.

you need to open your eyes if you really believe this.

texas fans have a sense of entitlement about EVERYTHING, not just in state recruits.

Most of you have probably never been to Texas and/or Austin.

ive been to both, and the attitudes of the fanbase in person are reflected accurately on their message boards.

Most of you are basing this on Orangebloods.com, which is stupid.

you can go to ANY texas website and find posts like the following, which did not come from orangebloods:

Oh, horsesh*t! I've heard it all now as to the reasons why so many hot shot Texas kids have suddenly become enamored with that Remedial Education & Recycling Center in Baton Rouge. They're on their way over there to perhaps rewriting the heretofore untouchable records SMU set for buying players. Friggin' coonasses!

Where's mom and pop live today? What's the distance from Temple to Baton Rouge... Temple to Austin? Will Le$ Mile$ be sending a private jet to haul their asses back-and-forth from Temple to Baton Rouge for 7 to 8 home games each year?

Good luck to the kid if having family in Lousyana is the reason he matriculates there. I'd hate for him to be playing for us and be homesick all the time. I mean grandma and few aunts living over there are certainly closer family than his mom and dad 60 miles up the road from Austin.

His family in Temple is going to love $5 gas as they load up the wagon for the short trip to Baton Rouge for 7 to 8 mini-family reunions each season with the rest of the lot still residing one kilometer north of the end of civilization.

Good luck to 'em all!

Hook'em!

Well even though they may have an inflated opinion of themselves, UT is generally a better school academically than LSU. It is much tougher to get into. It is also way tougher to get into than either A&M or Tech. The problem is that unless you are in engineering or something the school really isn't THAT great.

Also, they automatically assume that every kid in Texas absolutely LOVES UT
=======
Same as with LSU fans.......ahem Joe McKnight.

as a longhorn i have to say this LSU fans are the most HOMER fans of all time. i have lived in this state for 8 years and put up with the lsu fans every damn year. when texas took lsu behind the woodshed at the cotton bowl i was there and sitting with friends from baton rouge in a mostly lsu section some drunk old man tried to pick a fight with my arse over my hat..LSU fans have no room to talk either about HOOK UM HORNS can we talk about GEAUX TIGERS and as far as UT fans busting on lsu everyday there is a new tread here about UT..

youre really starting to flaunt your lack of knowledge here. most lsu fans knew from the beginning mcknight really liked usc. they lashed out at him for the way he handled his recruitment, not because he went somewhere besides lsu. if he hadnt strung out lsu all the way until signing day while knowing he was going to usc all along the disdain for him on this site would not be nearly as high.

thats exactly my point. of course posts like these are on the rant, the difference is you have you have to go look for them on there. on orangebloods or any texas website you can open just about any thread and find posts like the one i quoted.

if you bring up a bowl game from 2002, that says it all (and no, you're not the only UT fan i know who thinks that was an important game)

They actually use that game as a determining factor to prove they are the better "team of the decade."

Well, winning the national title is pretty damn crucial.

That's why Texas filled up so early two years ago - and why LSU is filling up so early now.

If by saying I have probably "never been to Texas and/or Austin", you meant I "have 30+ family members in both Houston and Austin, and have spent every Thanksgiving in Austin since I was a baby", then I agree.

If you don't think Texans (especially those in Austin) are nauseatingly arrogant, then it's clear that YOU haven't spent any appreciable time in Austin.
