...throwing at inanimate objects without a pass rush or defensive backs

This is the type of event Barkley should dominate. His passing skills are so good only to be counteracted by questionable decision making, which is why he dropped. Only an idiot would question his physical atributes

I'm excited to see what he does tonight though

Yep, reminds me of Jarret Lee. Very impressive in the skill drills.

LOL at comparing this guy to Jarrett Lee. He won't be starting in his second year.

You can teach a guy to read coverage better. You can't teach Barkley's arm.

Actually there could be a good chance he could. Sanchez graduates next year. and the competition will be between him, Aaron Corp who isn't a USC style QB and crybaby Mitch Mustain who still hasn't shown anything in 3 years now. I'd have to like my chances if I were Barkley to start as a redshirt freshman.

Mustain has 2 years of eligibility left right?

yep, and if sanchez comes back he will only have one year left to play. he may never see the field. i still wonder why he came to USC, couldve gone many other places, ego i guess

Yeah and there's a good chance that Corp would start over him anyway, in which case it would be at least 3 years until Barkley would see the field barring some rash of injuries

I thought Mustain jumped to #2 on the depth chart.

Anyways, it's irrelevant as long as he has 2 years left. That means a RS Barkley would have to beat out 2 older players. Very unlikely.

It was basically fluid throughout the season. Corp was the backup for the Rose Bowl and if Sanchez leaves, they'll be a wide open competition for the job. like you said though, it doesn't really matter since he'll redshirt and probably sit for 2 years after that

While Barkley looked sharp, Carroll likes to give his young QBs a chance to learn the system before throwing them into the fire.

I don't know why that is funny because Lee can make all the throws and has a tremendous arm, but he made terrible decisions all year. This is a very good comparison. Barkley really struggled this past year in HS because of his decision making. Same thing.
