After watching the Under Armour game, Mathis seems like a superstar and is one of the guys I really hope we get. His range and speed seem elite.

very poor way of assessing future. It's a glorified scrimmage. Most players are just goofing around and taking it easy.

Anyone connected at Neville? What's the word on the street with him?

A high school coach recently told me Mathis plays meaner than any kid he has seen in years

Him and Lawrence are close. He was hanging with all the LSU guys at the UA game. I think we're good here. Those OOS linebackers not sure. I can see us missing on all of them which would melt this board.

I'm gonna get blasted but I really don't think we get Allen, Gay, Chaisson, or Phillips tbh

I would def be disappointed if Mathis went to Bama after he courted Lawrence to come here. Our DL could be as nasty as it's ever been if we reel in guys like Mathis and Wilson to go along with guys like Shelvin, Lawrence, Logan, etc....

This is simply not true. The ratings matter to a lot of these guys and they'll play hard for that bump.

For the first time since 2012 I'm beginning to believe LSU will compete for championships again. Even with all the offensive star power that's come and gone the last few years I've never been convinced we truly had a chance because of the holes on the defensive side of the ball. The addition of Canada and Aranda with the defensive line we're putting together is where the games will be won.

Seniors: LaCouture, Herron, Gilmore, Clark
Juniors: Valentine
Sophomores: Logan, Alexander, Lawrence
Freshmen: Wilson, Shelvin, Mathis, Farrell, Thomas

I can see why they are loading up on the dline with this class. Losing 4 guys after the 2017 season would kill our depth going forward. That must be a huge sell for Orgeron to these kids.

I watched Mathis during the State Championship game and the entire Neville D-Line got Manhandled by Edna Carr's offensive line. Neville had some big boys including Mathis but they didn't get to Edna Carr's quarterback at all. Of course that EC QB was outstanding and they would have had a hard time getting to him had they gotten into the backfield. Not saying he isn't a stud, but in the game that I watched, I really look to see if the LSU targets were good and I just wasn't impressed in that one game.

My son goes to Neville and when I ask what some people think about him they all say he loses sight of the ball. I don't see that when I go to games but I don't go to every game. Seems to mean that that can be coached with better coaching. He has only been at Neville for 2 years I believe.

They're getting there but the Oline has to get better against legit defenses. Stanford is getting 2 more top 20 offensive tackles this year than LSU has gotten in the last what? 5 years? 10 years?

3 and 4 star players on the Oline are going to struggle against 5 star DTs and DEs every time.
