This has to be a good thing as far as LSU's chances of flipping Daylon Mack?

There have been some rumors that he might jump ship if Malik didn't commit to a&m. I'd definitely say he's on decommit watch now, though

it will be interesting. Just a hunch, but I bet UT will be looked at by him much more closely now.

Also, Kyler Murray isn't too happy with this news.

A&M still hasn't hired a DC, gotta feel like Mack is really about to pull the trigger and call it.

You don't fire coaches these days and don't have a replacement already lined up. It's been 3 weeks since Synder got canned, with no announcement of a new DC in sight.

that's besides the fact they've been turned down by every major candidate they sought.

A&M is the media darling and new and up becoming SEC powerhouse. They get a pass for whatever they do. They have tons of money, facility upgrades, and Sumlin is next to Saban as God like status

No worth a shite DC wants to coach a defense that will be on the field the majority of the game due to Sumlin's offensive philosophy.

Anyone named "Kyler" deserves disappointment.

Happy he made this decision. Not even because it helps us, but because this will greatly benefit his future. Obviously he could have been great here, but Charlie Strong is a great defensive minded coach. He will be much better off there as opposed to A&M long term.

I agree 100%. This is a hot time in recruiting...lots of commitments plus you want to hold on to your verbals...especially the defensive ones in this particular case. It has become obvious to me that Kevin Sumlin really doesn't give a damn about defense. He certainly didn't at UH...he certainly has an embarassing one at A&M...most of the players kicked off the team were on that side of the ball...he hired a questionable DC to begin with...and now he waits an eternity in today's world to find a new DC.
