Hmmm last I checked getting paid > 0 is a better financial decision than getting paid 0.

By that logic, he should have been working at McDonalds all along rather than playing.

Well done.

Did you really need me to add "to play football" for you to understand the point?

Working at McD's would involve a career change.

Dude is soft as baby tissue. I don't see why he has any reason to stay other than than to get his education. He's never going to change his toughness so he should just go ahead and see where he lands. Might go in 2nd-3rd round just based off potential alone. I don't think he can improve his stock all that much because I doubt he ever gets around his flaws. He's very athletic and you can see all that potential in him but he just doesn't have a lot of toughness. Almost seems like a great athlete at WR rather than a great football player, IMO.

You must have not gotten your answer quick enough the first time you asked on the rant. I guess it's logical to start an entire new thread about it on this board.

Just for the record, Coach O did refer to this as "recruiting the juniors" to stay one more year. I know, it's picky.

4 years at 4th round money vs 4 years at 1st round money is real

If he's really a 1st round talent prove it and capitalize

^ that's just the difference between 1st and 2nd round

Over 4 years Odell will make ~16mil to jarvis' ~5mil just off draft position, not to mention 10mil is in guaranteed money compared to jarvis' 1mil guaranteed.

Still think it's better just to rush into the league? A lot of productive guys never get that big second contract anyway, ask Ruben Randle and Michael Clayton...

If you have a shot at the first round you come back and take it. If not go ahead and get started towards that second contract, if you are an established WR1 or WR2 by that time maybe you'll get that life changing payday

Draft position can be the difference between being rich or being set for life, it's a big deal. A lot can happen playing 4 of your prime years stuck on your "entry" salary
